So I found a disc. It had a name and number on it so I called. This guy said "Oh thanks man. That's the second disc I have had a call on. That's why I put my # on them." Then he says this (which really pissed me off). "I don't ever look for a disc that has gone into tall grass or brush. I just wait for someone to find it and return it."

Now wtf!!! I have a no disc left behind policy. I will not stop looking for my disc until I find it. If it gets too dark I will come back the next day. So the question is dose this guy deserve his disc back or would you keep it?

P.S. I will always call a number on a found disc. But why should I give it back if you don't even feel the need to look for it at all?

Who is worse the guy that does not look, or the guy who keeps it knowing exactly who it belongs too?

just put it back in the grass and tell him it's there.

steveo wouldnt be calling if the guy decided to LOOK for it in the first place. honestly, i would go put it right back where i found it

damn beat me to it

First off, what a douche. I can totally understand not wanting to give it back, and honestly I don't know what I would do. I think if the douche in question is willing to meet me at my next round or whatever I would return it, but I don't know that I would go out of my way or make a special trip to return it.

I also like the guys above approach of putting it back.

Seems he's not concerned with getting it back, so keep it.

Depends on how hard it was for you to find it really. I wouldn't go to far out of my way to get it back to him but make him come to you or something. If he were more concerned it would be a different story.

Return it if he wants it. If not don't.

If someone losses a disc in a tournament and ONLY spends 3 mins searching for it do they deserve to get it back?

It was a pain to get. It was in the middle of a thorn bush and I got a few cuts on my arm trying to get it out. I am supposed to meet him at the same course on Sunday to give it back. I was just wondering if you guys think I should go. But I like the idea of putting it back in the torn bush and then showing him where it is and making him dig it out and cut up his hands and arms.:p

Don't ever base your personal integrity on the actions of others. If it's your personal rule to always return a disc if you can, then return it. Basing the decisions you make on the actions of others only serves to complicate matters, and blur lines that shouldn't be.

Giving it back is always a good thing to do. That said, I agree with many who said don't go out of your way to give it back. If the db owner won't meet you or come to you, then tell him you'll just put it back where you found it.

I would say 'yes'.

but yea, the guy is a DB. I would find the deepest darkest woods around and toss it in. Let the next person who finds it call (or not) and see what the guy says then.

I would go back after the tournament was done to look for it.

Id give it back. If you dont want to call him anymore when you find his discs so be it, but I would return this time and every other time. Dont sweat the small stuff

Why is he a DB? Because he doesnt care enough about his lost discs to look for them?

It seems his attitude is if he loses one so be it, someone will call or they wont.

Agreed^^

I dont get what the solution to this problem would be.. Are you guys saying that anyone that doesnt look for their discs shouldnt put their number on them?

What if I really liked the discs when I put the number on it, but than later decided that I didnt care if I lost it? Am I a DB if I dont erase my number off the second I stopped liking it, off the chance I lose it later and some poor soul has to call me?

You called someone that lost a disc and didnt look for it!?!

Are you ok? I cant imagine how traumatic this must have been. If you need anything you can depend on us here at the forum to talk to or whatever you need.

I would return it. Karma man, its a bitch. You keep this one and its just a black mark on you man. It will haunt YOU!!!

That being said the guy is still a DB for not bothering to look for his disc.

So if someone picks up your disc you lost during a tourney, before you get back to pick it up. Do you think that person should keep your disc?

Agreed^^

Yes I am saying that if you don't take any time to look for your discs then don't put you number on it and expect everyone else to find them and go out of their way to return it. Why in the hell would I want to waste my time meeting someone who didn't care if they lost the damn disc to begin with?

Sounds like this guy, like a lot of people these days, is just lazy and expects other people to pick up the slack for him.
