How's the weather? Haha. It's been awhile since I have been on the site or talked to you. I got caught up in work and the PDGA. How have you been?
It's been awhile since I have been on here so I'm sorry that I haven't replied. I really wish you could of made it to the tournament but with your car all banged up it would of been hard to make it. I still can't believe we won. I do have some good news for you, there will be a Discraft Ace Race at Belmont on Saturday October 17th. It is ran by Hazy Shade, also there is a tournament on that Sunday on the 18th at Turtlecreek. The turtlecreek tournament is for my birthday and it is random draw doubles tournament ran by Buckeye Disc Golf Club. If anything you gotta try and make it to the Ace Race at belmont. I actually have an Ace Race that I am heading to today at Edison Community College in Piqua, starts at 1pm. Have a great day!
The Hazy Shade tourny was awesome. 144 people/ 72 teams showed up and I can truly say it was one of the best tournaments I have been to. There are pictures on their myspace if you would like to check them out. My partner and I Won the Advanced division with a -20, we each got trophy bag tag and $82 gift cards to Hazy.
Ouch that sounds awful and expensive haha, sorry you have to go through that. If it makes you feel any better this winter my windshield spider webbed in like 4 different spots, my exhaust broke at the headers, and my suspension just broke a few weeks ago. I haven't replaced or fixed any of it, its absolutely awful. Although it was a nice car when I got it, I believe I am going to get a new car soon so thats the main reason why I haven't fixed anything. I always seem to type a novel on your page, sorry. Anywho I hope everything goes well with your car and just keep me up to date, ttyl.
I am really wanting to, but its not looking good. Basically I am having a new, well used but different, engine put in my car, woot. Anyway, I'm trying to talk a couple people into coming as well, so I can hitch a ride.
Are you going to be able to make it down here for Sundays tourny? Hopefully you were able to get your car fixed, I know that can be a pain in the a$$.
Just to let you know the first 100 people at the Hazy Shades BYOP Doubles Tournament will receive the player package so if you still plan on coming I would be there before 9am. I will be there around 7:30 to help set up and make sure that I get my player package. Also thanks for the thumbs up on my Flip City review!
    Hey,
The 2 that would be closest to the main drag thru BG are Lovers Lane and Kereiakes. Both are great courses Lovers lane has a few longer open shots. Both have good elevation changes and are well kept parks. The guy that runs the local leagues here wants me to get some pics of the courses so I'll update the pics on here in the next few days. Did you see the post for the $10,000 hole in one contest? I really thought I'd get some response from it but nothing so far. How are you doing on the cart?
Flip was amazing. Id tell you about it but my review speaks for itself. Mason County DGC "Beast Course" was really fun too. All in all it was a great trip and Flip is worth the trip without a doubt. I will post some pictures once I get them all loaded up on my computer.
Well I'm heading to Grand Haven, Michigan tomorrow morning. I will be gone for a week but I will be playing Flip City and Mason County DGC and possibly a few others while I'm there. I finally get to check off some courses on my wish lists. Have a great week and I will be sure to post some pics and reviews when I return.
So far there is no pre registration. It's not a PDGA event but with such a large turnout it sure does feel like one. 7UP will be setting up booths and handing out drinks and stuff, and lots of giveaways for CTP and raffles.
Well there is no $10,000 Ace fund this year, they said they will be doing that next year. So its August 30th with sign ups at 9am and tee offs starting at 9:30. Its $50 per team and each player will receive a player pack including: Hazy Shades tournament stamped disc, Tournament T-Shirt, a Mini, and more. Lunch and drinks will be provided. They are still working out all the details and they will call me if there are any updates.
Sometimes I wonder if you tell me these things just to rub it in haha. I can't wait till I finally make a road trip and mark some courses down in my book. I'll be heading off to Michigan next Saturday for a week and I will hopefully get to play some courses up there. Maybe one day I will catch up to you. Just fyi there will be a Hazy Shades Doubles tournament at Belmont on August 30th. I am good friends with the people who run the place and I was told they have a sponsorship from 7UP. They are capping the tournament at 140 people so If you can make it id find a partner and when sign ups come out ill be sure to let you know. It's 2 rounds of 24 Holes and there is rumored to be a $10,000 Ace Fund on Hole 5. They said they are trying to draw in pro's with big $$ and big sponsors. I will get more information tomorrow when I go up to Hazy, if your interested let me know and I will give you all the details.
Well it was suppose to rain a bit and the guy at flip city was having a private party so we couldn't camp there, so we decided to go to Tennessee/North Carolina instead. We ended up in Gatlinburg, stayed at Smoky Mountain National Park. We played four courses and it was pretty awesome. There is a course in Morristown, TN that was absolutely just a blast to play and it was so beautiful and quite out there. There was also a great course in Hickory, NC that I loved. The other two were nothing too special. We are going to start taking weekend camping/disc golfing once a month from now on see how many courses I can get in by the end of summer. I'm up to 45 in 8 states now.
To be honest I didn't even go today. I just played all weekend long, some skins match's, a couple doubles mix ups. It was a pretty great weekend for some Disc Golf. How was your Michigan Trip?
Guess who I ran into today? I got excited when you said you saw Barry Schultz at Brent Hambrick DGC, so I went up there this morning and played the normal 18 plus the "alpha" course. As we were leaving we headed over to the other side of the dam, and sure enough Barry Schultz was finishing up a hole so I walked up to him and we talked for a little bit and I got his autograph, he was super nice about it too.
Flip City does have a lot of hype so I will be looking forward to your review. When I go to Michigan ill be staying in Grand Haven for a week. Our family has a house by the beach and its no more than a 5min walk to the pier and town. Muskegon and Grand Rapids are not far away so I will be playing some of those courses and if I can find time I will hit up Flip City depending on your review. I've hear the Mason County Park course in Ludington was nice so I may check that out as well.
Nate Doss and Dave can let some fly, I average around 400+ on my drives, my longest being 536' and I know they can top that easily. I'm actually heading up to Michigan myself at the end of the month, Ill be about 30min from Kalamazoo.
I bet that was really neat to see him out there playing. I have watched almost all the Clash DVD's and he is a very solid player. I do plan on coming up but I can only make it Sunday, I have a 2 course tournament Saturday but if I decide not to go I will come up and watch both days. I was going to try and get in the tournament but it was filled up so I signed up for a local one. Also I would be more than happy to be your guide, so just let me know when your going to be coming down and we will set something up.
