Hi Kristy,
I got your message about tourney, (little to late) but wanted to say thanks for telling me about tourney. Keep me in mind for next one please. Still trying to figure out website.
Greg
I think it's $7 per person. You might call before you go up there but frankly, even if you just chill for an hour on the deck and drink a brew or two, it's worth the side-trip.
Yeah, I haven't seen Snaps for a while either. Dunno what happened to the guy.
Re Rt 2 - there's another new course up there that's supposed to be pretty good. Don't know anyone who's played it though, and no reviews here yet so it would be a crap shoot.
Re mayhem - my wife's birthday is that wkend so while I really want to make it, I may have other obligations to attend to. We shall see - maybe we'll work out a deal ...
First, it's a ski resort. If there's snow on the ground (likely, considering the storm that's gonna hit this week) only the front 9 will be playable.
Second, there's a clubhouse. Last time I was there they were serving burgers and beer out on the patio, very chill, plenty of good people around.
Third, it's on the north side of the ridgeline, which means the view you get is out over the desert towards Barstow and points went of there. Not much in the nighttime lights department but during the day you see for 50-100 miles easy.
Scenery-wise it's 10/10 so even if you and just hang out for half an hour, it's worth it. The town of Wrightwood, just down the hill from Sky High, gives you all the extra eateries, music venues, etc., that you need.
I'd pass on Verdugo Hills, but that's just me. I played it once and was not impressed - it seemed like a putt-putt course.
Insead, why not hit Sky High? It's just a few miles off I-15 at the Cajon Pass and it's a spectacular DG course by all accounts, including my own. I hear the front nine is open even if there's snow.
I'd like to make it, RTS - you were a gas to play with last time around! Fact is, though, that between work, family, and retirement plans , my schedule is chaos right now. We'll have to see what shakes out.
I should be able to get more for prizes for this Spring, probably not as many though. I won't have the time to accumulate them like I did for the Fall meet.
