Pros:
1) Nice quick course which can be played in 15 minutes if you hustle. Perfect for a quick round at recess or anytime you don't have an hour to dedicate to disc golf in one day.
2) Nice use of elevation on this course. There are 4 or 5 holes that go up down, or across a decent slope. It alters your shot, stance, and how you want to execute the hole.
3) Tees are marked by a small concrete block in the ground with the hole # and an arrow directing you to your next basket.
4) Nice Discatchers . . . the yellow band surely stands out when driving by the course from either side. Maybe that can be a new marketing feature of Innova's . . . our baskets are the most visible baskets on the market.
5) Beginner friendly course because the obstacles are not overwhelming. The slopes will provide the challenge that the lack of obstacles is missing. There is however virtually no way to lose a disc here.
6) I threw a roller down the hill, through the ditch, across the track and it circled the basket. I was so pumped after this shot because it did exactly what I wanted it to do. It was a thing of beauty to throw a perfect roller like that. This course will stand out in my mind as one of my best rollers ever thrown. Now if only they worked more frequently.
Cons:
1) One section of the course is on nice lush turf, then the other section is very thin and spotty turf. Overall I would say the conditions need to improve on the upper section or this will remain a con.
2) The lack of obstacles is an issue for me. I wish the trees were more in play because the slopes alone do not create enough interest in the shots.
3) Course will be closed during school hours . . . this will not factor into the rating but worth noting that he course is not always available for play. Commons sense should tell you that however since it is inside a fenced in area on school property.
4) No benches, signs, or any of the standard amenities on disc golf courses.
Other Thoughts:
While there aren't a lot of cons on this course it can only be an average course in my opinion. There are some redeeming values and the design incorporated the best areas on the property which is all you can really ask for. Overall it is just average but still is a lot of fun to throw.
