Overgrown and hard to navigate 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 18, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

+ It's a decent design using wooded and open sections of a town park (with the exception of Hole #1, as noted below)
+ It was probably a good 9 hole track when it was established in 2015, but it hasn't been maintained

Cons:

- Very difficult to find the first tee unless you're looking for the wood-lined "box" in the ground near the bulletin board (use the pictures on this site to help you)
- First hole is difficult - and dangerous to other park users. Your tee shot needs to stay w/i 8 ft of the ground to clear the low branches (it's a 327 foot par 3 hole, so I guess the only par play is a roller...). There's a playground right next to the throwing line, and the basket in placed among workout equipment
- If you're going to try this park, my best advice is to have the uDisc app and the map easily available. You're going to hunt around for the "tees" and you'll need all the help you can get

Other Thoughts:

~ If you're thinking of playing Echo Lake for the first time, check for the most recent reviews to give a sense of course conditions
~ This is a good community park disc golf project that's aged poorly. There's no evidence of upkeep on the wooded holes (no trimming, and the "fairways" are all choked and overgrown)
~ I posted some new pictures to compare conditions to those posted in 2015

Room for improvement 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 27, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

First tee next to parking lot with a long narrow fairway, some holes play with the small amount of elevation that the park offers. Good quality baskets. Enjoyable, challenging short holes (my favorite)

Cons:

No evidence of a disc golf course on the park bulletin board or any directions to first tee, luckily it is visible from the bulletin board if you know what you are looking for(if it weren't for the pictures on here, I would not have found the first tee). Tees are size and shape of horseshoe pits, filled with 2A stone, and are too small to be usable, they are suggestions of where to tee off. 6th hole either missing tee, or could not find it. Many of the holes use the gravel walking path as a fairway, so this could be difficult to play when the park is crowded.

Other Thoughts:

A course map posted on the bulletin board and hole map placards at each tee would do wonders for this course. The course was fun and technical and I would totally play it again. There is just a very steep learning curve before you know the course(no maps or hole descriptions).

Echo Lake. meh 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 16, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Variety of doglegs right and left. Some elevation drop/loss. Brand new Mach V baskets.

Cons:

Many fairways are gravel paths. 1st hole has literally no approach alleys as the growthbis so young and branches so low to the ground. All tee boxes are 3x3 three sided gravel, we ignored completely.
