Played a really cool little 9 hole course at Matilija Middle School in Ojai, CA. Opened sometime in March/April from what I gather. Open on Weekends and Weekdays after 4pm. More information and a course map can be found on UDisc.
I hit my first Ace today! Hole 5 at Yucaipa Regional Park, Yucaipa, California. Threw a small backhand hyzer right into the basket with my Discraft ESP Zone.
Hey, I am trying to clear some room and get rid of some discs (mostly just because I want to buy more. These are mostly discs that have either never been thrown (10/10), or thrown for test/practice before being shelved (9/10). All discs were stored on a shelf with care (never in the trunk of my...
So, I have some updates, not all of them good.
Good News:
I purchased a few stable/overstable fairway drivers to fill that hole in my bag. The fairways I purchased are listed below:
-Eagle, star, 169g
-Teebird, star, 168g
-Thunderbird, champ, 167g
The Eagle sits in the bag currently but I...

Hard to tell but I think I would take that gap to the right, even though it looks smaller off the tee, I think if you hit it right it would allow a cleaner approach shot (for a backhand). I would go Leo3 or Heat off the tee on a slight hyzer flip. Then approach with the Leo3 or. KCPro Roc...
You do have a point, I only really use the Shryke on open holes. I also have a old P-line DD2 that I bag for open holes in less windy conditions. Still, they are not used as often as my Wraiths. A buddy of mine has been talking about picking up some pro Wraiths for the exact reasons that you...
A Teebird and a Thunderbird are both on my radar for (over)stable midranges. Will probably pick one up after xmas.
I do have a Ken Climbo Champ Firebird, but I haven't been bagging it. I only really used it for overhand thumbers on a specific hole but took it out after that shot stopped...
If you are driving in (and/or out) along the 10 you gotta stop at Yucaipa! It is totally worth it. Great course and great scenery.
Plus, Ritual Brewing in Redlands is a good brewery option.
As you can see on the basket, this is hole 4, not hole 11. There is also a concrete tee pad now. It plays a lot longer than 410, and is a par 4. (I think the tee sign even gives a bigger number than 410). There is a mandatory right of the light post. Road to the left is OB.
I play a shryke or...
I will definitely try that out. At this point I am just waiting for xmas to roll around, as I am expecting a disc golf store gift certificate or two from the girlfriend and family. This will be on the list for sure though. Thanks for the input!
Yeah, I may have typed too much. I will have to go back and shorten it up soon so that it is less intimidating of a post. Thanks for bearing with it though, ha. I will definitely put in a new KCPRO Roc. Given how small my bag is though, I will have to take out another disc, likely my second...
