In 2013, the City of Friendswood Disc Golf Course in 1776 Park was created on new parkland along Clear Creek near FM 2351. It became one of the Houston area's premiere disc golf courses. This week, the Galveston County Consolidated Drainage District, in concert with the City, is beginning a project that will remove hundreds of truckloads of dirt from the area to reduce the risk of flooding. Once the drainage project is complete, some park amenities will be restored, but the Disc Golf Course will no longer be located in 1776 Park. The new location of the Disc Golf Course will be announced at a later date."
