Introducing series points for clubs! At this point it is just for bragging rights, but we thought we'd experiment with a team/club component to the series.

Points are as follows:
If a player places in one of the 5 major divisions (MPO, Am1-am4), they will earn their club points
1st = 10 pts
2nd = 5 pts
3rd = 3 pts
In the smaller divisions where there are at least two players from different clubs participating:
1st = 5 pts
If a club has more than 10 players participating on a given day, they will earn 10 bonus points.

When you checkin, show the your bag tag for the club you are competing for and we will note it on your leader board card. The bag tag is required; no tag, no points! Note that this is just for identification purposes, the IOS team is does not have the manpower to compute/run tags for all of the participating clubs.

This may get tweaked through the year based on how things go and the feedback we receive. Please let us know what you think.

Actually the event this weekend is south of I-80, but not by much. :)

So yes, the IOS is more of a northern Illinois thing.

Pre-Registration is CLOSED for IOS #68. We have 27 spots available for Saturday, and 15 spots available for Sunday.

Here's how the spots will be awarded out:
At 6:30 AM we will start handing out spots. If there are more players than spots available at that time we will have a LOTTERY to hand out the spots. This means that you do not have to arrive super early to wait. However, you would want to arrive by 6:20 to make sure you are included in the lottery that would take place at 6:30. If there are still spots remaining after 6:30 AM, we will continue to hand out spots on a first come, first served basis. We will probably not be set up well enough yet at that point to register you for the event, but you would at least have a ticket to get in. Plan to start being called up at 7:30 AM to register.

FOR SUNDAY: We WILL allow people to pre-register with us on SATURDAY for Sunday's event! These will be handled on a first come, first served basis.

Any spots still remaining Sunday morning will be handled just as we are handling Saturday's remaining spots.

Trophies for IOS #69 Oswego Open are in process. If you are playing in one of the smaller divisions, please pre-register so that I can make sure I have a trophy made for your division. These trophies do take some time to make, so your early pre-registration is appreciated.

Got Tag?

Just a reminder rep your club by showing your club tag when you checkin for IOS #69 - Oswego Open this weekend. (Registration is still open at illinoisopenseries.com)

Current Team Rankings:
FVM - 15
CSI - 5
Basket Cases - 3

I hope you all had fun at the IOS #70 Sinnissippi Open. Awesome to see 185 players out for the weekend. Sinnissippi Park is a great course even after the storm damage from earlier in the week. Special thanks to Rod Fritz, the Sterling Park District, and other local players that took time out of their week to help clean up the course. Kudos also to Case and Heather Jackson and others from the Valet Kings crew who stuck around to help get packed up. That extra help is very much appreciated.

We'd also like to thank our sponsors: Fade Gear, Air Play Sports, and the Rusty Fox. You can visit them online, or even better when you are in Sterling make sure you stop in, give them your business, and say "Hello".

VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT IOS #74!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!!!!
WAUKEGAN WILL BE A SPLIT DAY TOURNAMENT

Due to the huge turnout at our single day Marengo tournament and the race to finish before dark, we received approval to split our final IOS tournament in Waukegan. Sorry for this late notice if you have already requested off from work for one of the days!

Division splits (MAX OF 4-SOMES PER CARD EACH DAY):
MPO / MA2 / MA4 / FA2 / FA4 will play SATURDAY, October 10th.
All Other Divisions play SUNDAY, October 11th.

This is our normal division split with one exception - we will have the Intermediate Women and Novice Women play Saturday instead of all women playing Sunday. This also gives women a chance to play both days in a women protected division if desired!

We will be reaching out to everyone that has to make a change in which day they are playing. Anyone that is pre-registered with us and now can no longer make it (or chooses not to play a division that is offered on Saturday), will be offered a full refund of your entry fee.

The pre-registration information will be updated soon (as well as the PDGA website).

Overall we hope that this will be a very positive thing for all players involved. Thanks for making the IOS a smashing success!

Right now we have plans for 2 rounds of 22 holes. There is contemplation for a 23rd hole, but we may leave it as is. That means we max at 88 (or 92) players each day.

Bang those chains!
