Hello

It's been like a year last time I played. Here's my bag starting off simple. Don't have a lot of power: My best shot is like a standstill 230feet puttershot.

Putting putters
Dx Aviar
Dx Aviar

Throwing putters
S-line P2 - straight
Kc Pro Aviar - stable

Mids
Neo Origin - US
Kc Pro Rock - stable

Fairway
D-line FD- Rollers
C-line FD - Old
C-line FD - New
Opto Explorer - old
Star Roadrunner - Gregg Barsby run
S-line FD3 - Doombird III flat top
400 H3v2 - backup OS disc
Premium Mentor - backup OS disc

Fairly simple just swithching up discs based on the wind.

A standstill 230 foot putter shot is pretty impressive! I'm not sure I could reach 230 with my putters, barely scratch that with my mids.

Fine setup for way more than a novice. Once you notice gaps in your game, you can add/swap.

Do you throw the Roadrunner for distance shots, and then a Mentor maybe for headwind? I notice you say the Mentor and H3v2 are overstable (like the FD3).

Yes I believe the Roadrunner is my furthest flying disc. I am using it for turnovers, and hyzerflip tunnelshots. It's very straight with low effort with a hyzerflip.

Yeah the Mentor I have is quite overstable. Might be the run, it is Active Premium plastic.

It is rated 11, 5, -2, 2 but I think it's more OS than a Star Wraith for sure.

I use the FD3 when I don't want to turn over putters into a headwind. It is more like a approuch disc for me.

The Mentor and H3v2 behave similarly, I don't fear them to flip and burn if there's headwind.
Biggest difference is that the FD3- Doombird3
has very flat top.

(I am from Finland so excuse me in case I messed up my english)

If someone talks about a simple bag with a basic setup for a novice, I usually think about 5-7 discs. :-D

Well... :D :p

S-line P2
Kc Roc
C-line FD
Opto Explorer
S-line FD3

Yeah could add the putting putters but those are the ones I throw mostly.

I just love carrying d-line FD for rollers so might put that one up there. Also the Star Roadrunner.

What I mean by "basic setup" is that I don't carry any +10 speed discs, besides the backups for OS fd3 :D

I would miss a OS putter like a Zone, Aviar X3 kind of disc in that setup.. .. and a really US one.

I love to throw slow discs. . i only have 4 discs faster than speed 5 in my bag. . .but a big (very big) range of putters and mids,

S-line P2
Kc Roc
C-line FD
Opto Explorer

That's more a bag that I would call simple and basic. It's a good one, I think.

Personally I don't really like listing all discs in a simple list by speed and stability, because it does not show the structure of the bag. Much more important IMO is which discs are the workhorses, which are the specialists and which are the backups.

What I care for are the workhorses: Can they cover the necessary lines? Is there few overlap? Do they fit the style you play?

For specialists I look if they are less discs than workhorses and if they are special and necessary enough to be worthwhile carrying.

Backups are irrelevant, IMO. There's no need to list them. You just want to have backups for your most important discs, that's it.

Had RHBH training round

Kc Pro Aviar
S-line P2

Kc Pro Roc
Neo Origin

C-line FD - old
C-line FD - new
S-line FD3 - utility
Star Roadrunner - max D

Possible overlap:

Can't decide between new C-line FD and Opto Explorer. They both are sweet discs, the explorer has more dome so it feels good for backhand.

Notes:

The Kc Pro Roc feels incredible as a drive putter.

Also the S-line P2 is old, but very straight driving putter. It's quite beat-up...

I can push my putters 270feet with full drive, with a standstill it's consistent 230feet.

Origin seems to be super understable, is this common? I turned the disc right couple times. Might be crappy technique, OAT

I have two Origin. One in NEO and the other is soft EXO. Both are more understable than the numbers. Origin is a hyzer flip and turnover disc, or very straight with lower power. If you throw putters 270', then you will throw the Origin 325' from hyzer.

That is pretty accurate, I believe a buzzz is way more stable even with the same numbers.

324feet is pretty optimistic, maybe if I hit a perfect line not burning it. I would throw it maybe +-300f with some turnover

Practice rounds, going pretty well in good weather conditions

Putting:
Dx Aviar (2pcs)

Drives:
S-line P2 - beat_up straight
Kc Pro Aviar - straight to stable
G-line P2 - new, little overstable

Midrange:
Neo Origin - understable, turnovers
Kc Pro Roc - stable midrange

Drivers:
Cline FD - old
Cline FD - New
Opto Explorer - worn in

Star Roadrunner - Old
S-line FD3 - OS

I rarely throw DX Aviar but standstill it went super straight in no-wind conditions. All in all very good weather and all my putter drives were ok.

I got a hold of G-line P2 and it was actually quite stable (my S-line P2 is like 5 years old, very beat-up)

Didn't throw a lot of drivers. Need to smooth out. One drive was okay when I threw anhyzer about 80% with my old FD.

I have some addititions to my bag. I am pretty comfortable with my slower discs. Need to work on noseangle woth drivers.

Dx Aviar
Dx Aviar

S-line P2 (old)

Neo Origin - understable
Halo Mako3 - This is new addition.
Kc Pro Roc

D-line FD -rollers, scramble shots
C-line FD (old) - straight shots
C-line FD (new) - straight to stable
Opto Explorer - some wear but same as above.

Star Roadrunner - Max D
Champ Savant (old) - straight forehand
Champ Savant (new) - overstable forehand
S-line FD3 - OS utility

I love throwing Dx Aviars, they fly straight from hyzerflip and tail maybe little bit to the right. Just have to be careful with not using them on rough surfaces.

Origin is also excellent I use it a lot in the woods. Great for standstills upshots.

Savant is an interesting mold but has been OOP for a while. Quite Overstable. I think it's comparable to a Thunderbird. thunderbirds are quite flattop? My Champion Savants has slight dome.

Practice round with fewer discs

Dx Aviar
Dx Aviar
S-line P2
Neo Origin
Halo Mako3
D-line FD
C-line FD
Star Roadrunner
Champ Savant

I love the ministamp-run of Savant. It's also great for short forehand hyzer approach-shots! Apparently the mold is not entirely OOP but the ministamp runs are maybe little rare these days.

DX Aviars are nice to throw, understable but with hyzerflip they will go straight and tail to the right slightly. But I want to spare my putters so I might consider buying 2 putters.

Halo Mako3 is nice addition to my midranges. It holds hyzer for my armspeed. Maybe not into a wind. While Origin flips quite easilly and finishes to the right little bit they work pretty even.
