End of June update:

Not much has changed. I've put a beat JB Zone back in the bag, basically in lieu of the LX Judge. The Evidence doesn't always get carried now either.

So I'm sitting at 19 discs that remain pretty steady, and one slot that gets rotated around based on course and weather conditions. Discs in the rotation for that final slot include the aforementioned LX Judge and Evidence, plus a beat Tursas, mid-stability Emac, beat Biofuzion Felon, fresh Stag, mid-stability Hatchet, fresh Moonshine Trespass, and PDx.

July update.

Mids: In a move that should make DGCR nerds everywhere rejoice, I'm not currently carrying an overstable mid. Also, my two year old Bio Emac has worked into Evidence territory so the Evidence is out of the bag. Lastly, my beat Recycled Tursas is back in the bag on wooded courses (specifically for understable forehand rollers, which is something I've been working on lately).

Fairways:
Wooded courses -- L-X Felon, Bio Felon, Bio Getaway, Stag, Hatchet, beat Hatchet.
Park courses -- L-X Felon, Getaway, Bio Getaway, Stag, Hatchet.

Drivers:
Wooded courses -- Trespass x2, Vanish.

Thought I'd do a statistical breakdown of disc usage over my last couple rounds, one round at each home course. Tracking every shot except for tap in putts my usage was:

42% Judge
10% Berg
7% Emac Truth
7% Felon
7% Trespass
6% Zone
6% Stag
4% Tursas
4% Getaway
4% Vanish
3% Proxy
2% Hatchet

Interesting. So what does this tell you? And is a percentage about equal to a throw?

I think if I tracked this way regularly, and consistently had a mold hovering around 2-3%, then it would tell me to either put in extra fieldwork with it to maintain confidence or to consider dropping it from the bag.
A couple of the results really surprised me. I have always been more of a hyzerflip player rather than a straight-to-fade power thrower, so it surprised me to see my really flippy molds (Hatchet, Vanish, Tursas) all in my bottom five. I'm guessing that if I tracked my rounds this way consistently, that the Tursas and Hatchet would have much higher numbers; they are often "get out of jail" discs and they get used more in rounds that are going poorly. I was also surprised to see the Felon so high, because I am very backhand dominant and I rarely use it backhand. But in the wooded courses out here I am flicking shots more often, and my Felons are the discs I sidearm with the most confidence.

And yes, a percentage point roughly correlates to one throw (105 throws total).

I like this. I agree, though, that since it is based off only a few rounds that it isn't a tell-all. Also, idk your courses, but open v wooded could shed more light on this.

The Felon is an awesome disc. I imagine it flies like some form of a Sexton firebird at a stock price (but that is speculation).

August update. Lately I've been rolling with pretty much the same bag for all rounds, rather than swapping out discs based on course conditions. 19 of the discs I'm carrying are in there 100% of the time. The 20th slot is either a second Felon (wooded courses) or third Trespass (open courses).

I hit the road with the Mrs. and got a couple vacation rounds in using my original bag, a satchel that only carries 7 discs. After getting used to bagging 20 discs it was pretty tough to whittle down to 7. This is what I settled on:

Judge
Emac Truth
Tursas (beat)
Felon
Getaway
Stag
Trespass

Perhaps not surprisingly, I really missed a few discs. The ones I most often wished for were:
1. Zone - I thought that between bagging a fresh Emac and a Lucid-X Felon that I could power down those discs and not miss having a Zone. Boy was I wrong. I was constantly leaving shots that would usually call for a Zone an extra 10'-20' away compared to what I'd expect from a Zone. That put a lot more pressure on my putting and added strokes to my scorecards.
2. Hatchet. I was playing at elevation, and carrying only one understable disc (Tursas) just wasn't enough. I was constantly having to decide between the little bit of extra distance I get from a Stag vs the preferred understability of a Tursas.

End of September update. Lost another Vanish (boy is that a perfectly named mold) and decided to not immediately fill the understable distance driver slot. Current bag:

Berg
(3) Judge
(2) Zone
(3) Emac Truth
Tursas
(1-2) Felon
(2) Getaway
Stag
(2) Hatchet
(2-3) Trespass

Putters: Switched out the Proxy for my Lucid-X Judge. Proxy is still a great disc, and I may go back to it again. But I have been relying more on hyzerflipping a beat Prime Judge off the tee, so I wanted its stable complement to be the same mold.

Mids: No change.

Fairways: No change. Although my Hatchets have been seeing some increased use now that I don't have an understable distance driver in the bag.

Drivers: No Vanish. I'm covering these shots by either a) hyzerflipping a Hatchet or b) going up a bit in stability to a beat Trespass. So far I haven't missed it. For me, getting a distance driver to consistently finish straight and/or to the right is too touchy of a shot. I just don't think I save any strokes by filling that slot, and am better off with something a little slower or more stable.

So that leaves me with 19 discs, and I prefer to bag an even 20 since that seems to be the best fit for my MVP Voyager. Been thinking about what the 20th disc could be. Under consideration:

-Evidence. I don't often need to split the gap between a beat Emac and my Tursas, but once in a while it would be nice to have.
-Fresh Tursas. Similar to the Evidence for usage. This would be a temporary fill though, since it won't stay fresh for long.
-Ballista/Destiny/King/Shryke. Something for absolute max distance, really just for fun and not for when the scorecard matters.
-Lucid-X Trespass and second Felon. Right now those discs split time in my bag depending on the course. I could just always carry both, meaning I would have the exact same 20 discs in the bag at all times.

Putters: My thrashed Jawbreaker Zone has gotten pretty squirrelly lately, so I'm putting it in timeout. Good chance I slide a fresh JB Zone in the bag to replace it.

Mids: Evidence is back, although it's probably the least necessary disc in my bag. It has the HSS of my beat Bio Emac and the LSS of my Tursas. Kinda overlappy, but I like mids.

Fairways: Similar to my Zone situation, I've not been executing shots very well with my worked-in Felon so I decided to currently only carry the beefier Lucid-X. Been throwing my Getaways and Stag really well and leaning on them more.

Drivers: It's been over a month now with no Vanish and I think I'm better off without it. I dabbled with a few Katanas, which were all over the place stability-wise. They do go super far but I see them as a situational disc at best. Probably carry a couple for open bomber courses but not for normal rounds.

I haven't updated the bag in a few months. Partially because there's really not much to update, and also partially because I've transitioned my bag to mostly backups for the winter (same molds though). Now seems like as good a time as any to write down some closing thoughts for 2020 and look forward to 2021.

Putters: I need to figure out my straight-to-fade workhorse driving putter. It was a Lucid-X Judge for the latter half of 2020, which I really liked since that reduced the number of putters molds down to three: FH approaches and utility OS (Zones), workhorse putting and drives (Judges), and glideless approach specialist (Berg). However, I still haven't found a backup LX Judge and I don't like the feel of regular Lucid or Fuzion Judges. I may tinker with putting an Envy back in the bag next season instead.

Mids: Still trying to beat in my oldest Emac Truth to be a direct Evidence replacement. It's close, but not quite there. Fingers crossed that the Evidence is permanently on the shelf by this time next year.

Fairways: I still struggle with a high number of fairway molds but it's hard to see myself pulling any out of the bag. All four get regular use, and I don't have any discs that are particularly close to beating in enough to steal the next slot to the right. A part of me wants to try out a neutral mid/FW tweener as a gap filler, but logically I realize that would be foolish.

Drivers: Trespasses as the workhorse. That's not going to change. I am still interested in trying to find a lightning fast mold specifically for my rounds on wide open ball golf courses though. It's too hard to find the "right" Shryke or Katana, and Kings are too flippy for what I want. I may try out a Ballista again. I feel like it would fly well up here at elevation.

Putters: I bought a Proton Envy a couple weeks ago, which is the first time I've bagged an Envy in over a year. It seems to fill the gap between my Ti Zone and Judges better than my JB Zone did. It also can be powered up to hit straight midrange lines, so this may actually help kick the Evidence out of my bag for good?

Mids: No Evidence, as stated above. I can power up my Envy or power down a Stag, or give my flippiest Emac Truth a touch of anhyzer to cover Evidence lines. We'll see if my resolve holds this time.

Fairways: Quite a bit of tinkering. I'm experimenting with using Felons to replace Getaway shots. The problem is that a beat in Getaway shot is something that can't be replicated with either my oldest Felon or fresh Stag. So if I want to minimize molds a bit, then I do feel like I've got a small hole in my bag.

Drivers: No change.

March 2021 Update.

No changes! Ran the same bag all month, with no tweaking. :hfive:

I still want to revisit the Ballista as a max distance smasher for casual rounds, but haven't seen any available in a while. I'm also toying with the idea of sliding an Electon Envy into the bag next to my Proton Envy. That would be a replacement for my Lucid-X Judge, which I continue to be unable to find a backup for and thus am not a huge fan of throwing.

No changes? Doesn't that violate the disc golfer's code or something? ;)

Sitting in a similar boat for putters. I find myself wanting a putter/short range disc that is in between a lucid x judge and Zone. I'm debating trying out the Envy/Proxy combo, as I like throwing premium stuff.

I bagged both Envies and Proxies before. I really think the Envy is objectively the best driving putter on the market. It is a cheater disc. Has a true 0 HSS while still having a pretty typical fade for a stable putter. It's just bonkers how easy it is to throw. Proxy is in the same boat. Thrown clean it is pretty close to 0 turn also (I'd put its HSS similar to an Emac Truth, for reference), but then just elevators straight down with almost no fade. Proxy can hold a turnover if you really force it over but that is certainly not what it wants to do naturally if thrown flat.

As for filling the gap between Zone and Lucid-X Judge, the Envy is exactly that disc. Proxy would overlap too much with the LX Judge. They are definitely different discs (Proxy is faster, about 15' longer, with less fade but also better HSS compared to LX Judge), but the net result is pretty similar.

I pulled both Envies and Proxies out of the bag in late 2019, mostly to try minimizing molds. Proxy I could live without. The straight flyer is nice, but in low wind I'd rather hyzerflip a worked in Prime Judge and in windy conditions I'm probably not fully trusting the Proxy anyway. Envy though? I just never could cover those lines adequately with either a beat JB Zone or a LX Judge. I've had it back in the bag for a couple months now and it has been a birdie machine for driving on short Par 3s
