Memorial Park in Frankenmuth just got brand new concrete tee pads.

They're enormous...I've never seen concrete pads so large.

Great course, glad to hear they poured concrete. :clap: :thmbup:
guess I'll just have to get ack up there again!

WOW! That was the only thing that was missing on the course. Great news.

Workday at IRA TWP course tomorrow 4/21 @ 9am-3pm They want the course ready to open by the beginning of this May.

IRA Township Park is on Meldrum Rd just south of Shortcut Rd.

9-Hole dual tee design

Need a couple experienced dgers to help me finish up the course (75% complete) and supervise some community service peeps. Also could use some insight/input/ideas on hole #6. The redesign from their original plans has been a challenge and a half but this is the best we could do with what we have to work with.

East China Twp (Front 9) Update

EAST CHINA TWP UPDATE

After many designs, we have come to an agreement with the parks dept. for the first 9 holes.

The success of the Front 9 will determine if they will add the back nine in the near future. They have a lot of dead or fallen trees in the proposed Back 9 area so it will take some time to get it taken care of safely. The good news is that the Front 9 will not require as much work since we will be using some of the pre-existing trails and will be brush-hogged to shape the fairways. I'll keep you all posted on workdays which is looking to be sometime in May.

Front 9 design:

Most holes are around the 300' in distance.
It was another tough challenge on the design but the land has great potential.:thmbup:


OTHER UPDATES~
Baker's Field Park - No new info. Park is seperate from parks and rec dept. BOC is in charge of the park's future. I haven't seen their design but I heard it is prob a 9-holer.

Columbus Park ~ Still surveying the land. It is almost 400 acres. Contact me and we can take a hike.

Word on the streets is Owosso has a course opening late June/early July.

Southeast Michigan needs some more courses. I guess a 30 minute drive to willow from the downriver area isn't too bad but I would love some more courses to be in the downriver area.

Ira Township Park is HERE, and East China Township Park is HERE. I think both courses are still in the process of being built. Your gonna want to talk to Donnyv for info on them.
