I voted for Newton, PA because it is the most central option as far as drive times (not factoring traffic delays).

To get to Newton, according to google maps:

• Bangor, Maine: 8 Hours, 6 Minutes.
• Rochester, NY: 5 Hours, 30 Minutes
• Erie, PA: 6 Hours, 30 Minutes
• Boston: 4 Hours, 40 Minutes
• Ocean City, MD: 3 Hours, 40 Minutes
• Virginia Beach, VA: 5 Hours, 50 Minutes (less if you take Ches. Bay Bridge)
• Roanoke, VA: 6 Hours, 25 minutes
• Charleston, WV: 7 Hours, 36 Minutes

Everybody living in this part of the country would eventually hook onto one of these routes.

VA and WV have nothing to do with the Northeast. They are more Central, so are MD, PA, and DE i just put them in because someone asked in my previous thread

Swap Tyler for Allentown

Not to stir the pot, buuuuuut...

The fact that I live in the Lehigh Valley notwithstanding, even though Tyler State Park is frequently listed on the DGCR top 10 list, Allentown, PA might make a better choice for a few reasons.

1 - Access. Tyler isn't accessible by any major thoroughfare and the roads that lead there can get congested. Allentown is accessible by several major highways and interstates.

2 - Courses. There aren't any other courses that are conveniently located anywhere near Tyler. Allentown has two former PDGA stops located less than 15 minutes apart:

Little Lehigh Parkway
Jordan Creek

If you search the Course Map for zip code 18018, there are another three 18-hole courses within 20 minutes of the two aforementioned courses. Go out another 30-45 minutes and you've got another half dozen 18-hole courses including the new Skyline Park, Nockamixon State Park, and Tinicum State Park.

3 - Accommodations. I'm fairly certain that there is ample camping in the Lehigh Valley as well as tons of options as far as hotels go. Given its location, Tyler doesn't have a ton of accommodations available. Hell, if you don't mind a screaming baby and an annoying dog (that does not go disc golfing with me), I could make room for a few tents in my back yard

All that being said, I voted for Warwick, NY due to it's more central location. Even though Tyler and Allentown are closer to me, Warwick would be a few hours closer to the New England folks. Regardless, I'd be up for anywhere. Thanks to everyone for getting this ball rolling.

Is there a Mid Atlantic poll? I couldn't find it if there is.

And I voted Tyler. It's should be about 4 hours for me. And my bro lives close to Valley Forge so I'd have a place to stay only about 45 minutes or so away.

Oops, I missed the Gaithersburg course. That's only about 2 hours for me. That would be cool, too.

Pinnacle would be ideal for me. Only 1/2 an hour away , and it is a great course! Cranberry would be more realistic (more central considering population & geography) and I've played there. Tyler, I might be able to do, and its a course I'm looking forward to playing.

I agree with all of this. Allentown was the recent host of the Worlds, so it can clearly handle the crowds and has world class courses nearby

Leicester, Ma would be great. Steve Dodge of Prime Discs runs Maple Hill and he needs to apologize for dropping his sponsorship of DGCR Steve's a great guy. I'm just sad Prime doesn't contribute to the funding of this site anymore.

Since everyone's getting so upset about what the Northeast is defined as I'll mention that the club/points series up here, NEFA, consists of all of New England, Eastern New York and northern New Jersey.

I'll see you guys at Hawk Hollow in the fall.
