Post a cool disc golf photo

When using a wide angle lens like I am here, there is nothing I can really do to get very shallow depth of field because of the way these lenses work. The wide angle lens creates the feel of distance between subjects, so it feels as if he is farther away from the basket. (He was plenty away from the basket as it was, and kept drilling putt after putt in the wind)

where is this photo taken?

While Discin

While discin at Pymatuning State Park. We were on Hole 18, we all throw our drives and friend decided to try an annie over the cove, hit a tree limb and straight into the water. Ater some encouragement from us, he goes in after it(water only about 12" or so) and comes out with his disc and this fella. Last pic is me in middle with freinds at said course.

Epic Fail. Thought I had figured out how to show pictures. Even spent a few hours setting up my Flickr account with a hundred pictures.

You could just do it like this:

These are pretty nice. I love the shirtless guy with the phone/pager on his belt in the 2nd one.

You could also right-click on these in flickr, choose Large and then drag the image upto the address bar or tab. Then your address bar will display the link directly to the image. At that point click on the Yellow "Insert Image" button and paste that address into the box. It sounds far more complicated than it is.

This is hole 8 at the Gulf Meadows course, in Jack Brooks Park in Hitchcock, TX. This is one of my favorite courses:

Awesome guys, thanks. I unfortunately do not have too many pictures of myself playing as I am usually the cameraman. Hopefully that will change this year because one of our league mates finally has his own decent camera. The second and forth picture were taken by him last year at our Highbridge road trip.

That second picture is currently the best picture I have of me teeing off (and actually having a good shot). It is on Blueberry #2 and I parked that Star Valkyrie twenty feet from the basket for an easy 2. If only my friend was not so unphotogenic.

I am trying to save money to buy a digital SLR in the next month. Point-and-shoot cameras are not very disc golf friendly.

7doubleP - what lens is this? What settings? (assuming it'd DSLR). The colours are beautiful, so I'm thining this is a pretty high end lens. I can't get any EXIF data.

The lens was an old Canon L 16-35 2.8, a very expensive lens.
I feel a good lens is way more important than most people realize.
For me, the most important thing about a lens isn't how sharp it is, or how much better the distortions may be, or how consistent the exposure is across the frame. I consider how wide the largest lens opening is, and how fast the lens will focus. This Canon 16-35 2.8 zoom lens is a constant 2.8, meaning if I zoom into my shot while wide open with the aperture (2.8) it will stay at 2.8 and not stop down like most zoom lenses. Tamron Tokina and Sigma must offer a similar lens at a better price I think.
Sorry I'm being so nerdy.

Camera model-Canon EOS 40D
Focal length-28 mm
Max lens aperture-f/2.8
Exposure-1/800 at f/2.8
Flash-Not fired, compulsory mode
Exposure- bias0 EV
Exposure mode-Auto
Exposure prog.-Aperture priority
ISO speed-ISO 400
Metering mode-Pattern

Here is the frame right before which I also like

Thanks - I was thinking a fast L lens. The rich colours and low light speed (no flash evident) was a giveaway. Tough conditions for a point and shoot.

Really nice pics. I want to get out with a few lenses and see what i can do. I have a Sigma 10-20 that would be fun to play with around the basket.
