Question about the iDye Poly and Color intensifier

Am I supposed to use the intensifier packet or not? Sometimes it's mentioned, some times it's not. I have seen it suggested not to use it. We used it during our first attempt at using the shaving cream method. Some came out a bit more faint than others, I don't know if this is because of the discs or colors. Just wondering, thanks!

ive been told throw it away, not to use it
