I've always called them FR's, but I may not be one of the cool kids.
FR proto star
I've never heard those referred to as protos, always first run stars here. 
We call them First Run but know what people are talking about when they say Proto Star. The stamp indicates that it's the first "production run" of the mold. Usually small runs of CFR/ Pre-Release and in some cases Prototypes (like the Dominator) are run before the actual production run. So it's not "technically" the first discs that popped out, but it seems fair to call them First Run to me.
