+ Concrete Teepads. The course has nice long and flush concrete tees for all the long pads and has concrete tees for the few short pads that are out there.

+ Discatchers. They seem a little older but they catch just as well as they should.

+ Potty in the parking lot, near the first hole.

+ Benches and garbage cans can be found scattered throughout the course.

+ Hole 1 starts next to the parking lot and hole 18 finishes next to the parking lot. Nothing crazy but always nice to see a course designed this way.

+ There are next tee signs everywhere but the course was pretty easy to navigate anyways.

--- Course Playability ---

The course here I would say is very beginner friendly and a lot of fun for all skill levels. Most holes here are around the 300' and under range. Now its not a pitch and putt, it's not because of all the tight lines that need to be hit. The lines are tight but fair. If you are very good at throwing a putter or midrange straight then you should excel on this course. Most holes can be completed with just a mid or a putter as long as you can stay clean. The fairways are fair and the rough is not too overly punishing. The course has its fair share of left and right turning holes but will reward the player who can throw the straightest the most consistently. You will need to have a good amount of finesse and not a lot of power to stay clean here.

Hole 8 and hole 16 would be the two hardest holes on the course with 16 being the signature hole.
Hole 8 is a slightly uphill, slightly right turning 380' shot. Its about a 20' wide the hole way with there being a slightly dense and deep ditch to the left. Avoid going left at all cost.
Hole 16 is a 450'ish hole that is the one opportunity that you have on the course to open up and throw a bomb. The hole plays over two ponds with a landing zone in-between the two of them. I played it safe and went for the landing zone but you could get to the green in one. Its a fun golf hole for sure.

- Sand. The whole courses soil seems to be hard pack sand. Not a big deal but your shoes will probably filled with a bit of sand.

- This course will not fully challenge the best of the best but I dont think it was suppose to. This course will however still be a lot of fun to play.

- Hole 10 was the only hole on the course that I couldn't find a fair line to the hole. Its pretty fair for the first 3/4's of the hole but then you are met with a small wall of trees that you kind of need to throw a perfect shot to get threw. If not you are left with a difficult C2 putt.

I liked this course a lot. I knew before hand that a lot of the holes were on the shorter side but I was pleasantly surprised with the course layout. Every hole was a lot of fun to play and figure out. Some were pretty obvious with only one real way to play the hole but the search of perfection will always be there for this course. I would keep coming back time and time again just to try and shoot a perfect round. Its out there and would keep me hungry forever.

Bemidji Disc Golf park is my home course, fantastic for all players, with long and short tees. The beauty of this course is in the design. Its wonderful array of tunnels, doglegs, and obstacles will keep even the most advanced players on their toes, while its short tees and small par 3 layout make sure that new players don't feel intimidated. The terrain is rugged and natural, providing good and sometimes difficult ground action. For advanced players this course provides an excellent putter-only opportunity, as most of the holes are reachable and the dynamic design forces you to use virtually every shot. Forehanders and lefties won't feel left out on this course, and several holes allow the power players to reach back a bit.

Awesome course, awesome town, come to Bemidji and throw disc!

Good Signage, Concrete Teepads, a good variety of shots, the course is very clean didn't see any garbage on the ground. Fun course that is very playable for beginners, but can be a challenge for the experienced player.

I really can't think of any real negatives for this course. Like any course you could always tweek something here and there. Main thing is stay on the fairway in the woods, your score will thank you!!!

Was up in Bemidji for the 4th of July weekend visiting a friend who had to work every morning. So while she was at work, I had to check out this course. Glad I did!!! It's a little gem up north!!! Also if anyone comes across a Blue Star Katana in the first pond on hole 16 my name and number is on it. Give me a call and you will get rewarded!!!

First off... shout out to local named Matt who guided me around the course. He is probably one of the league players who previous reviews talked about keeping the course clean. He was very proud of the course which showed as we played together.
While it is a wooded course (which generally I don't like), it was not so much that you couldn't recover your par if you hit a tree.
Course contained both left and right bend shots, in both short and long. Very good variety of throws for a wooded course. good use of the elevation.
Hole #16 is the signature hole. Across water to a basket area under a canopy of pine trees. Loved it!!
Of course, the usual... multiple concrete tee pads, good signage, nice flow.

Parked in the wrong lot and had to walk a quarter mile to find the first tee. (Though I got to meet Matt that way!!)
Water hazards contained pretty nasty water. Glad I didn't have to fish one out!!
Deep brush and under growth in some areas.

Was course #2 on my Fathers Day weekend which added 12 new courses to my played list. Would rank it 3rd for the weekend (sorry, Matt!) behind two courses in the St Cloud area. That said, would definitely play it regularly if I lived closer to Bemidji....

This course is one of the best in northern MN. It is beginner friendly and great for more experienced players.
The course is wooded but not so much that its overpowering. There are a couple holes that are short and fun to ace run, while a few others are long where you can open up a bit.
The parks and rec department is responsible for maintaining the park but don't pay much mind to it. Some of the more dedicated players make up for that though by creating bridges over water, sweeping the tees occasionally, planning cleanups, removing fallen trees and branches (if possible) and organizing leagues and tournaments.
Make sure you stop by this one if you're in the area or planning a road trip passing by here!

Bemidji City Park DGC is a very technical course that demands skill and accuracy but is also beginner friendly at the same time. There's multiple tee pads on almost every hole with excellent signage throughout the course. The course plays around a filled landfill conveniently located off Hwy 197. It is mostly comprised of wooded holes but there are a few open holes in the mix as well as several water hazards on the back 9. If you are allergic to poison ivy/oak I would strongly recommend wearing pants during the summer months as I have learned from experience.

Out of all the courses I've played I'd have to say this course is easily the most challenging. I can only appreciate the difficulty of the course because of how beneficial it is to improving my game. It's unfortunate that some idiot(s) cut down several trees on #6 because they don't have the same appreciation for the course.

I gave this course a 4.5/5 based solely on the layout and design of the course. I don't think it is fair to give the course a lower rating because of the lack of effort the city puts into the course.

- Very interesting holes. Each hole is a new and different challenge.
- Location is great (Even though its next to a landfill) Lots of wildlife and very woodsy

- Multiple start spots to pros and amateurs

- Hole 16 is awful due to the water. We always skip this hole

This course is the star course of Northern Minnesota. Please note that I am an Amateur and this is the only course I've played as of this review , but after reading reviews for other courses I am positive that this is likely one of the best courses in Northern Minnesota. I've been there nearly every day for the last week and I am still trying to figure out how to do some of the holes. A+ Course that any golfer should play!

Pretty short, Maybe 1 hole that a long arm can really open up on. I have a noodle arm and was throwing a full driver on less than half the holes.

The holes kind of run together. Like there are only so many ways you can play a 200-300 ft wooded hole with a bit of a turn.

Would have been a 3 but one of the holes had by our count 15 tampon applicators strewn about the fairway. This really squicked up out, like I know the course was built next to a covered landfill, but walking on someone elses biowaste is kinda nasty.

--Being a wooded course, it provides a great opportunity to practice and hone in on your accuracy and finesse throws because it forces you to shoot between gaps that are often only 6-15 feet wide (the "fairway" on hole 9 is only about 6 feet wide, the fairway on holes 1, 2, 13 is quite narrow as well, and hole 15's fairway is nonexistent as there are about half a dozen trees clumped right in front of the tee forcing you to throw a steep hyzer if you want a safe shot)

--Too many wooded holes and it gets redundant quickly (the first time I played it I got bored because they all look the same after awhile). I miss open holes where I can launch my driver on when I play here.
--The flow of the course is really confusing around certain holes (especially between holes 1 and 2 where you have to basically walk back down the fairway of hole 1 to get the tee of hole 2 which is closer to the road than hole 1's tee). I would recommend going with someone who has played it before so they can lead you through. Fortunately, the hole diagrams at the tees have directions to the next hole, so if it's your first time, double check where you need to go while you're still at the tee
--Really crowded (2/3 times I have gone the parking lot was full; the only time it's free of people is in the mornings). In fact, it's the busiest course on all 10 courses I've ever played on.

Good course if you're in town (the only disc golf course in town in fact). It is great for learning how to play on wooded holes. I like variety and since most holes are wooded it gets old for me, but I do like the challenge of all the tight fairways where I can practice my finesse skills.

Fast course, short holes, easy to get to

The course now has signs telling par for the hole, distance for both tees, and location of next hole. Overall solid course

Lots of long narrow technical shots to really get some practice hitting lanes.

Signage is great, As can be seen in the pictures there are detailed info signs at every tee which include distances and maps.

Multiple tees provide fun for beginners and a challenge for the experienced players.

Course is well maintained, Rarely any trash laying around and is mowed at least once a week.

Lots of long holes where you can really open up your arm and test your distance drives.

Most teeboxes are level with the ground and get covered with dirt/mud quite often. I find myself bringing a small broom and sweeping them off when I am going to play a serious round.

The Parks Department removes the baskets on November 1st every year to get ready for the Skiing season (majority of the course is on a ski trail) If there is snow on the ground this is fine, however most years this is too early and there could be another month of golf played before the snow flies.

Back when I first started playing this course I was a beginner. I thought narrow fairways and heavy woods was a Con... Now that I have more experience and have played several other courses I realize this is a Pro as it really helps you hit those tight lanes on other courses.

To the other reviewer saying this course is way too busy, It IS very busy in the early spring when college classes get out, But during the summer when a good majority of those students have moved back home it is a quiet course with little wait time.

18 holes, new concrete tee pads, long and short tee locations, new baskets. Most of the holes are in or along the woods. Its a very technical and challenging course. There is a lot of water in play on this course. You have to throw along side/across a creek an a couple, and over a pond on another. Very fun course to play, definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

I'm not sure if its because its so new, but there are no signs by the tee pads that say what number hole you're on. There was a few times I had to run up to the basket to see if I was throwing off the right pad.

I would rate this course a 3.75 if I could.
