Pros:
-Tees are concrete, pretty thin, but I don't really care about that if I can fit on it, a couple holes have big concrete things that the tee is on (7+13) these are fine, but they seem a little less professional
-Nice tee signs, they are helpful for the different positions, although you would have to be a local to know where some of the pins are.
-Baskets are nice DISCatchers, highly visible, a couple Mach V that serve as alt. Pins I think, I didn't play to them but they looked solid enough.
-Fairways are nice, mostly short grass, with a couple dusty dirt ones.
-The rough is very rough, that being said, there isn't a whole lot of it, but it is easy to find.
-Good use of trees as obstacles
-the best holes with OB are #4 and #9, 4 is a cool island hole, that is reachable, but not a gimme. 9 is a fun river type OB.
-Columbia Park is a very nice park, it is super long and this which is interesting. So,thing that adds to the character of the course is driving to it through the waterfowl area, many geese fly across into the road, which is kind of fun.
-Basket placement is great, most notably on 4 and 5, 4 is up on a cool raised platform, and 5 is surrounded by skinny trees.
Cons:
-Navigation is very hard, with a map it isn't that bad, but I don't know what I would do without uDisc on this course. This is a small park for the two tees, two basket set up.
-Water doesn't come into play except for on hole 10, I wouldn't mention it if it wasn't such a strange use of a water hazard. It is a little pond type thing that looks to be very deep, but the top is duckweed so from the tee you don't know it is there. I would hazard a guess that many a disc has been left down in the muck.
-I think a couple hole could use a tree or two, maybe plant some saplings around hole 11 and 12, because these holes are wide open, and not quite long enough to be a good hole at that level of openess
Other Thoughts:
A worthy stop in Kennewick, I was only in town for about 3 hours, so I only had time for two courses, I'm glad I played this one, if I had to only play one, I would play two rivers, BUT, this one is a very close second.
3/4 on the new shoe index.
