Creative Recreations 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Sep 18, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Creative recreations is a confusing situation. Theres a nice little course to be had if you can figure out the entrance area... ill let you see for yourself. There are some fun scenic holes playing up and down a mountainside but pars are ridiculously forgiving (easy).

Cons:

The pars are extremely forgiving on most holes. There are MANY par 5's, and many are maybe only 400 ft. I eagled multiple holes my first time through.

Other Thoughts:

As mentioned, when you pull in, its hard to know what to expect, but if you figure it out and start playing, its maine disc golf and a nice afternoon.

If you're in the area... do it! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 4, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

One of the only courses in the South Paris, ME area. Good little course, good variety, elevation changes, etc

Cons:

Website has been incorrect "for years and years" now. (As a businessman/business enthusiast, stuff like that really bothers me - when people don't care about their product to keep it updated) Trash cans are completely full. Signage isn't very clear

Other Thoughts:

Overall, I'd say if you're in the area, come here and give it a try. It's a good course, good fun. Just don't expect high quality ownership, pro shop, amenities, grooming of the course, etc. But, hey, it's a back woods course on a mountain! Enjoy it.

Creative Recreations 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 4, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Very good course design. Well maintained fairways. Easy course to follow. Difficult course. Trash cans and benches at every hole.

Cons:

Pars are a little easy. Trash cans need to be emptied. And I do get bummed paying money to disc golf, but it's still worth the $5 here. It seems that the money does actually go back into the course, which is good.

Other Thoughts:

This site incorrectly stated that it was $3 a round when apparently it's been $5 for "years and years now." The owner of the site was super lenient with us though, and cut us a deal. $10 for 3 of us. Pretty sweet, totally worth it. (And I updated this site recently to reflect the actual $5 fee)

Challenging and unique course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 3, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Great hole variety. Nice tee signs and concrete slab tee pads. All holes have seats and trash cans. $5 all day play.

Cons:

Might be hard for beginners. Could have a little better next-hole direction in some cases.

Other Thoughts:

Really enjoyed this course. We will return any chance we get.

A fun and challenging course for Norway and Oxford Co. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 6, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Creative Recreations is a well designed maze of fairways utilizing old logging land on a moderately steep hillside. Don't let this land's logging history deter you though. The fairways are maintained, grassy, and well defined from the thick surrounding forest.

The course has a great mix of line shaping requirements due to the varied terrain and good design. One legitimate two drive hole ( a legit par 4) accompanies a number of, "Am Par 4's" which play more like 3.5's for +900 rated players.

Cement tee pads, signs for each hole, and directional signs for the next basket all add to the course. No substantial walkouts except for after hole 18.

Cons:

A few holes have rough ( woods) a bit too close to baskets (5,17,18). The baskets are aging Discatchers which are occasionally crooked. Hole nine is not ideal and is the weekest of the tweeners in my opinion.

Other Thoughts:

Like most Maine courses pars are geared to ametures. The Pro Par is 55 (says me). Contact me if you plan to play here as it is my home course and I'll give you a tour!

I like this course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 20, 2009 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

A nice change from most courses. The front 9 holes are climbing up the mountain, which is good for us old farts.
A few nice, interesting holes.

A lot of potential here.

Give it a try, worth the trip

Cons:

A bit to wet, to often, but hey this is Maine, and between the snow, rain and fact that this course is on a mountain, it's going to be wet.

Other Thoughts:

A nice course that doesn't get noticed by folks.

Give it a try.

Mountainside frolf 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 21, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

A couple of tricky holes. Well maintained course with nice guys running it.

Cons:

The climb up the hill is more challenging than the course itself. I didn't see what the pro pars are for this course but the rec pars were too low. I should not shoot a 10 under my first time on a course based on my skill level.

Other Thoughts:

This place has a lot of potential and I look forward to checking it out in the next couple years.
