A good 9 hole course.

Some holes lacking (inaccurate) signage but it can be figured out wandering a bit.

Agree with other reviewers to date. Drive through golf course to parking is painful. We park at soccer field and start at hole there (might be 4).

Hilly and technical 9 hole course set just on the outskirts of a municipal park. Course is set for intermediate players.

Signs - Holes 2-9 had brand new signs showing a map, distance, par, as well as details on what counts as OB on each hole.

Baskets - Brand new Black Hole Portal baskets that were extremely visible and grippy. Painted a nice red color.

Tees - 1 large and grippy concrete tee per hole. Tees / signs were easy to spot.

Navigation - This course was designed perfectly for the land. You can see the tee/sign for the next hole from the previous basket. Hole 1 did not have a sign, but if you drive all the way to the bulletin board and go down the stairs, hole 1 tee is right there. Hole 9's basket is back at the starting point. There are 2 small creeks that were dry when I played, but there are bridges on site when needed.

Variety - Elevation changes on every hole. Several trees on every hole will bring add enough challenge. Walking the 9 holes was a workout. Hole 1 - Blind downhill shot. Hole 2 - Downhill tunnel shot around pavilions. Hole 3 - Curved hole playing along hill. Hole 4 - downhill across a creek then back uphill. Hole 5 - downhill across 2 creeks then back uphill. Hole 6 - Downhill then back uphill across 2 creeks. Hole 7 - Uphill. Hole 8 - Curved downhill shot. Hole 9 - Throws over the start of the creek then back uphill.

Safety - Course is designed for fairways not to overlap. Baskets are far enough from the next tees. Bridges definitely helped.

Trash cans at 1, 2, 5 basket, 6 tee, and by 9's basket. Picnic tables / benches located with the trash cans.

Drive from park entrance to the start of course (see cons). Winding road through golf course with historic 1930s rock pavilions and rocky fence was a cool vibe.

Only course in the area (could also be a con)

Drive from park entrance to the start of course (see pros) was a winding road through golf course. Road borders an entire golf hole and loops around the greens for other. Could be upsetting if your car got hit.

Bulletin board was blank. No map, etc. No tee for hole 1. My rule of thumb when playing a course I've never been to is to look for a bulletin board and that typically is near the start of the course (see other thoughts). I made a map and uploaded it to help with navigation.



Hole 8 - Map was not accurate. Map shows a left hook when it was a right hook. I actually threw to the basket of hole 1 as it seemed to be what the map showed. While walking to get my disc, I saw hole 8's basket.

Only 1 tee per hole. A second concrete tee per hole would take this course up another notch.

I was extremely impressed with this course. Every hole felt unique in its own way. Being from Indy, any courses with elevation changes are a blessing. Every hole had elevation here.

The only thing that this course needs would be a second set of tees.

When driving down the long road, go all the way past the last rocky pavilion and look for the bulletin board. Park there. Walk down the steps. Hole 1 tee is immediately to the left once off the steps.

This course is a perfect fit for intermediate players. Beginners would find the trees and hills challenging. Advanced players could use this course to fine turn their approach shots. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone passing through the area.

One of the best 9 hole courses I've played. Well maintained. Good mix of downhill and uphill holes. Enough trees to make it interesting, but not frustrating for the recreational player. They advertise a weekly meet. It's a fun short course. Tee pads are in good condition and there are basket maps at the tees.

Although there is a course map near hole 1, there are no next tee arrows, and although it's a small, short, course, we still managed to get lost the first time we played. The basket map at Hole 8 doesn't seem to match the actual layout, it's farther to the right than the map would lead you to believe.

This isn't really a con, but you have to drive through the ball golf parking lot to get to the disc golf course. Unless there's another way in?

My rating is based on it being a 9 hole course. As I said earlier, it's a fun, short, course. You could play 9 holes in 30 to 45 minutes, once you knew the layout. I wish I lived nearby, I'd love for this to be my local 9 hole course. This isn't a plug, but the only other 9 hole course I know that comes close is Samuel S.
