This is a super fun course in a beautiful family friendly park. Lots of diversity of shots, long, short, technical, open. Elevated, OB. It's a great mix for all players.

A little too easy for an above average player, but a perfect course for the everyday golfer. When the course hasn't been mowed, it gets almost unplayable, but the local caretaker tries his best to maintain it often.

This course recently underwent significant improvements to an already great course. Many holes now have alternate pin positions and several holes have new tee pad locations. Every hole now comes equipped with a trashcan in addition to the benches and many trashcans that were already available.

Well maintained course in the Historic town of Guthrie. By comparison to other courses near or in the metro, Highland Park stands out as the "nicest" course. Here you will find jumbo tee pads, new benches and plenty of trash cans. Due to a significant update to the course, it now has many more challenging lines, while still having plenty of opportunities for birdies if you hit your line.

3/4 of the course will be backhand dominant for most players, however there are some forehand flex lines that could be taken. I would prefer to have more "punishing" holes for those who don't have a wide range of shots in their game.
All holes are par 3, which is fine, but it would be nice to have a course above 54 close to the metro. It all adds up the same regardless, however, I would love an 800+ ft hole!

My original review had several complaints that for the most part have been addressed and improved upon. I, along with anyone who has played the new layout, am very pleased and impressed with the changes and am very thankful to all of the hard work that was put into this course. I highly recommend it if you are traveling to or near OKC.

This is a fun course with a variety of shots and distances that is fun for beginners but will still challenge experienced players. I really enjoyed the fair fairways and good use of O.B. that was often present but not unfair or overwhelming. I also really like the use of elevation in areas where it was available, the course really used some of the nice features the land provided in the park. Grassy fairways are mostly well maintained and tee pads are textured beautifully. Baskets are level and in great shape.

This course desperately needs tee signs and directional signage. The course is fairly easy to follow but there is no excuse for not having a few arrows between transitions and tee signs especially considering the course has been in the ground long enough to get this project completed. A course without tee signs isn't complete!

This is a fun course but does not deserve the 4 stars it currently had (as of march 2017). I was traveling through the state and wanted to play one of the better courses. Because this course was rated so high I stopped here without doing enough research to realize its a very average course. Not trying to speak negatively of the course or those who put in the hard work to put it in the ground but this is not a 4 star course and my expectations were not met for a track that had such a high rating.

Course flow is logical and the course itself is easy to get to from I35.
Shot variety is excellent with a good variance of short, moderate, and long length holes.
There are several lines that will need to be shaped here in order to score well.
Tee pads are more than ample providing with a proper run up.
Elevation will factor into the holes here as well as there are both uphill and downhill holes to be played.
Water threat on a couple of holes to keep you on your toes as well.
There are some very birdieable holes and a couple holes that will give you a chance to go on a ACE Run.
There is a good mix of technical style holes and open/park style holes as well.
Favorite holes here were 3 with the downhill nature of the hole upon approach to the basket and the roll away threat on the right hand side. Also there is a pond with a fountain in the background to add to that pucker factor. Hole 12 was another fun hole with the hole playing uphill and the basket on the side of the hill and the risk reward roll-a-way on your putt to add to the pucker factor.

No signage as of yet, I assume it will be forthcoming
Some of the holes need some grass planted in the fairways as the terrain is a bit uneven at this time due to the construction of the course. Granted at the time of this review it is wintertime and in the spring the grass will green up and take care of this problem for the most part.
There is a walking path that winds its way around different parts of this course so pay attention please.
Distances on the tee pads can be hard to read at times.

Highland park starts off with a park style first few holes and ends that way too. In the middle you get a more diverse variety of technical holes as well as elevation to add to the challenge.
This is a great course that will shape up nicely once all the finishing touches are applied. The designers did a great job using the available land to its fullest potential. There is a little something here for everyone on this course from short distance holes, uphill holes, long bomber holes it really offers a great variety.
A new Kiosk was being installed upon our visit as well. Once all the signage is installed and the grass comes back in the fairway and the course itself beats in a bit this will be a solid 4.0, and thats what I'm rating it based upon where I think this course will be headed. This is a must play course if you are in the area or are traveling up/down I35. Do yourself a favor and get in a round here on a solid quality central OK disc golf course.

This course already has a broken-in feel throughout, though it is brand new. It's easy to navigate as the baskets have a painted spoke directing you to the next tee and most of the tees are clearly visible from the previous basket. The course flows well around the perimeter of the park. The first two holes and last two holes effectively use the roads around the perimeter of the park to define tight fairways and tunnels . LOTS of elevation in play (I'd say 75% of the course) including one hole (#12) that forces you to make a great shot and then put up a sizable >45 degree incline to have a shot at a birdie. Most ams will be thankful for a three there due to the potential for horrific roll-aways and comeback putts. There is a decent variety of length, most holes are in the 250'-350' range, but play sneaky long due to the elevation changes that add to the length. And couple of ace runs under 225' that are fun. One 400' and one 600' hole, but on those longer holes you're also forced to make careful lines work or you'll be plinko-ing it from the edges of the fairway.

#3 has the feel of a signature hole as you throw blind over a drop-off, through some old growth trees (a few of which sadly appear to be schedule for removal), and down a hill toward the goose pond. Plenty of dryland behind the basket, don't worry, but still a nice picturesque hole. If not for the mountain, uphill-putt nightmare previously discussed, I'd say that it would be the hole that sticks in most golfers' minds. The course has plenty of shade as the majority of the holes play through the woods or in tunnels along manicured park lawns. That may affect shot selection as the canopy is present on lots of holes. Generous tee pads and brand new Discatchers with the high-visibility yellow chastity belts. The paths between holes are easy to find and broken in. There's a drinking fountain or two in the park and garbage cans are sprinkled throughout the course too. I didn't hunt them up, but I'm assuming there are restrooms somewhere on the park grounds.

Righty dominant. Only one or two holes that really force a left-to-right line. Could use some signage, though in discussions with the course designer, they will be installed soon, so that's a minor quibble. Similarly, no benches currently unless you want to go out of your way to rest your dogs on a bench along the walking trail. The walking trail is in play on four holes, though only one is a potential blind shot (#4). What I mean is that someone coming over the hill on the trail might not see a disc golfer and vice versa.

Some briars and thorns throughout in the rough so prepare to bleed if you shank it. Speaking from experience, the creek near #13 and #14 are no picnics if you have a griplock. A few spots of sogginess (the fairway of #6, the overflow basin to the left side of #13 mostly) but not really detractors just something to be aware of. The walk from #15 to #16 is a little long but it's not silly. It's the only part of the course that doesn't have immediate adjacency to the prior basket so it makes sense. It's the #1 place that could use some navigation signage (the multiple baskets visible from #5's tee and the multiple tees visible from #6's basket being the next candidates). If you part by the tee at #1, you'll have a decent walk back to the car after #18, but again it isn't silly. A few greens are small with rough right behind them, but that can be a blessing or a curse.

Brand new course in a well-maintained public park with several amenities like playgrounds, basketball park, walking trail, and pool. This course is a fantastic addition to the Oklahoma disc golf catalog and should see repeat plays from lots of golfers. It's close enough to the greater OKC metro to make a decent trip, but it isn't too far. It's an above-average course in a public park and being new is in pristine condition. Wear some good shoes and be prepared for the elevation as you'll get a little mini-hike out of the experience! Overall a fun course that I look forward to playing again.

- There are a couple water hazards to watch out for.

- Some of the fairways are in desperate need of grass, but give it time, this is a new course
- No tee signs (mud and dirt can get on the tee pads, making the par and distance unreadable).
- Some of the holes are dangerously close to the road that runs through the park.
- I'm not sure how they determined the distances, but I'm pretty sure some of the holes are longer/shorter than what is noted on the tee pad.

- The OKC Metro area was in dire need of a good course - Highland Park DGC has definitely delivered. This is a beautiful course and it just makes sense. I can't think of one "dumb" hole on this course, which is something other courses in OKC can't boast.

Nice brand new course. This course has some nice, elevated holes that are not typical for central Oklahoma. The degree of difficulty isn't immense, but there is still a very fun element here. The whole family can play this course and enjoy it. Many holes offer par and birdie opportunities for women and children due to their length and design. There are no shots that force distance shots over water or tree lines. For advanced players, there are 17 chances to get a 2. Don't take this to mean that it's boring or ridiculously easy. The course is definitely fun, has good lines, and is worth the stop. There are new baskets, large tee pads, clear defined fairways, and the flow is good. It's easy to follow without a map, and the basket spokes are painted to indicate the direction of the next tee.

The course is brand new, so the "cons" will be corrected. Benches will be installed, and sod is being planted where it's muddy from being cleared. In the meantime, bring a stool for backups or breaks. A couple of tee pads are in danger of errant, long throws coming in on them from the previous hole. Two holes seem too easy. 250-260' straight putter runs with no obstacles in the way. Again, there may be trees planted or changes as it's just now open for play.

Novice to Pro will enjoy this course. Go play it.

This course offers a very nice variety of shots. Long, short, left-handed, right-hand, low ceiling, rollers and some sweet elevation shots. Great use of the land. Very nice 12' teepads. Lots off trash cans on course.

Course is new and is still a little rough in spots.needs tee signs & benches.

This course is only in the beginning stages and will continue to get better and better. If your in the area stop by you won't be disappointed.
