Pros:
As a previous reviewer mentioned before the redesign, this course had a lot of potential. The course has now realized its potential.
Recently expanded to 18 holes
Mostly new concrete tee pads
New Veteran baskets
Most of the holes are wooded
Elevation comes into play on most holes
Hole lengths range from the 150' hole 8, a pure ace run, to the 550' hole 16
Plenty of short ace runs
Excellent upkeep
Doesn't take long to play
Cons:
No tee signs or any other signage whatsoever. Playing without a course map or guide would be pretty hard.
Some holes become unplayable when there are too many people in the park
Other Thoughts:
This course in Morgantown City Park used to be, from what I have gathered, an open 9-hole course. Recently, however, it was redesigned into 18 holes. All of the baskets and most of the tee pads were replaced. Most of the holes are now playing through the trees on the hillside on the edge of the park.
The holes range from 150' to 350', with hole 16 being an outlier at 550'. The average hole length here is 252'. However, removing holes 16-18 and hole 1 (the only holes over 300'), the average hole length is 215'.
This is the closest course to where I live, and it is a nice change from all the courses in Bowling Green. I enjoy playing this course when I get a chance.
