John Dillinger Was Here

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 5, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Shot Selection: offers both backhand and forehand opportunities .

Not a flat course, features some elevation changes throughout, nothing extreme, but more than many central Indiana courses.

Holes winding their way through wooded areas, trees providing obstacles to work around, adding some challenge to what are mostly shorter distance drives, and there are a few that have open fairways.

Brand new course, very nice Latitude 64 ProBasket Elite targets, with 'Next Tee' arrows affixed, and cement tee pads.

Tee signs are temporary type for now, denotes number, distance, and shows hole mapping. A couple warning signs within the course for non-players to be aware as well.

The park has soccer fields. baseball/ softball fields, and a Splash Pad/Aquatic Center. Course starts adjacent to the Splash Pad. Attractive property overall.

Cons:

I didn't find much to gripe about here, there is a walking path that snakes its way by the course, couple spots one would want to be watching out for people strolling about.

Other Thoughts:

This is a very nice introductory course for the residents of Mooresville, and visitors, one that would not be too easy for someone starting out, giving them a taste of what Disc Golf can offer.

More advanced players can come to take their shot at Ace runs, and Birdies. Not one that you need to bring your whole bag or cart to necessarily, it can be a single disc round.

As a teenager, John Dillinger was frequently in trouble for fighting and petty theft. He quit school to work in an Indianapolis machine shop. His father feared that the city was corrupting his son, prompting him to relocate the family to Mooresville, Indiana, in 1921. Dillinger's wild and rebellious behavior was unchanged, despite his new rural life. It's the town he committed his 1st robbery in, robbing a local grocery store. The rest is notorious history!

Pioneer Park Disc Golf Course

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 28, 2023 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Great course for beginners or for advanced players to work on hitting their lines.

Cons:

Still cleaning up some of the fairways and opening up a few more lines on certain holes.

Other Thoughts:

Course is being cleaned up and improved daily.
