Pros:
- This course makes great use of the available land
- Variety of lines available on most holes
- A couple of ace runs, a couple over 450, and everything in between
- Distances listed on most tee stakes
- Six holes in the more rugged hills that get you away from the grassy park feel
-
Cons:
- All grass/natural tees
- Little to no signage directing flow in the grass holes
- Flow is terribly confusing, not intuitive by any means
- Playing over/through the parking lot on multiple holes
Other Thoughts:
This course is only open in the winter, as it is a popular beach spot in the summer.
Holes 1, 7-18 are in the grassy area of the park, holes 2-7 are above the entrance road in the more rugged desert terrain. The difference in these holes are night and day. It is easy to skip from 1 to 8 if you're not up for the hike. Hole 2 is a straight up the hill blind shot over nasty undergrowth, spotter recommended.
There are holes where you are throwing into near other fairways, but as of this review it is rare to see more than 2-3 groups playing this course at a time.
If you have not played this course before, make sure you have a map, because you will not figure out the flow after hole 10.
