Form Help - Maxing out at 300'

Thanks in advance. Been playing disc golf for a few years, but have not been able to throw past 300'. Yesterday I watched a guy casually throw past 400' - and he was recovering from surgery. Time to get real about improving my form. Below are a couple of drives, the first from a round, and the...

What's your most valued disc (NOT $$)

I have a rule: when in doubt, Roc3. My pink Champion Roc3 has been with me though numerous bag adjustments, courses, tough spots, and even dips in water hazards. I can't play a round without it.

Where are you headed in your disc golf journey?

Considering I just started playing this year... 1) I'd like to break 300' consistently. My form needs work, and I especially want to make sure I'm not throwing in a way that will lead to chronic injuries. After a long round my right shoulder and hip are sore for a day. 2) Improve my putting...

    Best hole you have played?

I actually played it yesterday! We were very surprised at how open the course feels now without the olive bushes, and I found a new line at 18: lay up on the left side of the pond and throw a RHFH spike hyzer over the pond and around the trees guarding the pin. Landed in the chips - a birdie is...

So, how did you play today?

Played all 24 holes (short to short) at the Monster course at Hudson Mills with my two DG buddies. Unreal that it was touching 60 degrees in December in Michigan, but we were loving it. I ended up playing the best game of my life! Putting was decent, but my drives were spot on till about hole 14...

    Best hole you have played?

Hole 18 at the Hudson Mills Monster. You have a few options on how to play this hole: 1) Throw a big RHBH anhyzer and hope to land close to the basket, 2) Lay up, throw a big blind spike hyzer and hope to land close to the basket, 3) mess everything up and land in the creek (short) or the pond...

    Upper Park Designs Backpack Bags

I'm tempted to pick up a dedicated disc golf backpack, but at the moment I'm finding it really hard to justify the $100-150 cost. For the number of discs and accessories I bring to courses, the Shift would be ideal. For those of you who made the transition, how is a disc golf backpack superior...

[Question] How many times have you overhauled your lineup?

For me, it's more been about a constant evolution than complete overhauls. I'm a fairly new player, so it's been fun trying new discs. A couple of months ago, I decided to really start nailing down some slots to improve consistency (and save money). I nailed down my putter slots first, and just...

[Putters] How many putter molds do you carry?

I carry a Judge and Envy as well. Classic Blend Judge max weight for putting only, Classic Judge for short, straight approaches, and a Neutron Envy for short drives and forehand approaches.

[Discmania] Power Driver Freak PEEDEE Thread

Since I picked up a G-PD a month ago, I've been in the process of converting my drivers to PDs. It simplifies my bag and makes room for my midrange discs, which were always cramped by shorter drivers. I like the way the PD feels - the Firebird is one of my favorite discs, and since the PD uses...

    DC/VA/MD in November

Well Biscoe, I'll need to figure out how to get down there. Next Friday may be an option, but I'll be contacting you if that starts to look like a real possibility. It sounds like it'll be a real privilege to play at the Blockhouse.

Best portable speaker for music during a casual round?

I'd like to offer a polite opinion: For some people (and I'm one of them), one of the big draws of disc golf is to get out in nature and experience some peace, away from the constant busy-ness of our lives. Getting on a course and focusing on one shot at a time, one hole at a time, is...

    DC/VA/MD in November

I've arrived! Turns out I'm 15 minutes from Seneca Creek, so I will definitely try to play that sometime. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll have time to play till next weekend - so I'll check back in here next week and see if anyone would like to play a round. Was hoping to play one of the...

[Recommend] Discmania PD = Innova ____???

This was brought up earlier, but I was told the PD has the Firebird bottom and Discmania Anhyzer top, while the Thunderbird has the Firebird bottom and the Teebird top. If you look at the lettering on the bottom of the flight plate, you'll see that the zip code is not raised as much as it should...
