New player, go easy on me!

Good to hear I improved! When you say too casual with my walk up, you want me to speed it up, or was that just saying I'm too casual, so I need to accelerate my arm across my chest?

New player, go easy on me!

Okay, update and new video. I think I got the heel pivot pretty good, it's the whipping of the arm I'm having trouble with. I'm also having a lot of discs turn over and go anhyzer, Although I can get the Leopard and Buzzz I got to go pretty darn straight. Discs like Nukes, Avengers, Wahoo, Surge...

Sounds to me (for those who can relate) that pivoting in disc golf is like sliding in bowling. I'm big into bowling, I go a few times a week, I average about 190-200, and I know how important it is to slide, if you don't you risk serious knee injury. Guess I've got some work to do this week...

So after a long winter of not playing, my throw is broken.

I know the same (but opposite) thing happens when you throw RHFH and throw too much arm and not enough snap. It shoots to the left, so I think you could be right about too much arm, not enough snap

    Distance Drives

I can't believe nobody else noticed this... You're throwing with the wrong hand....

I've noticed that too, I guess it's whatever is comfortable to the thrower! As long as you get the pivot, it shouldn't really matter if its heel or toe.

Thanks Craig. Yeah, I'm trying to get the fundamentals of the throw down, then tune it so its comfortable to me. I'm just praying for good weather so I can get out and throw some plastic!

New player, go easy on me!

Actually, I just started reading it. The whole whipping arm thing...whoa... THATS my problem! I've been using my arm 100%, I actually did a few "throws" (I didn't let go) using the method explained in that thread, and I feel like I could get WAY more power out of that style of throw. I can't...

New player, go easy on me!

I have. September 2009 I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. I actually ended up going out today despite the cold/ice. I got a ESP Buzzz and a Champion Leopard. It took me about a dozen throws to be able to "correct" what I was doing wrong, but then I started getting the hang of it. I'm...

New player, go easy on me!

Hah, I knew someone would say that. I don't even notice it. My weight changes a lot so some days pants fit, some days they don't. It's a part of life for me! We had a nice ice storm last night, no practice for me today :(

New player, go easy on me!

Thanks for the link, that should help out a bit. I'll be out practicing next week a ton, as it is my break between quarters for school. I have an elementary school 1/10 of a mile from my house, so I can just walk there whenever I want and use the soccer field as a good place to practice. It has...

New player, go easy on me!

Sean - Thanks man, Today is pay day, and I think I'm going to pick up a leopard or buzzz (Or both) on my way home from school, and see how that works. JR - Thank you so much, so many helpful tips. I can't wait to get out and practice. I noticed the flat footed thing when I made the video, time...

New player, go easy on me!

Lol alright. Cool. So your saying stay lower/bent/relaxed all the way through my throw? I'll get out tomorrow and try that. In the mean time I'll check out that grip thread. As for discs, The few I throw the most are: Surge SS FLX 170 (In the pictures and videos) X nuke 172 Pro Katana 172 (I...

New player, go easy on me!

I'm not sure if I should be offended by that or not. Not my choice to live in a trailer, I'm only 19... Any tips to fix my nose up problem? Aside from "Don't do it" or "Point the nose down more" haha. And by nose you mean the "front" of the disc, or the side of the disc opposite of my hand...

New player, go easy on me!

This is my second year of "serious" play. I'm starting to feel like I'm lacking in distance. I have a feeling my form is terrible. I would really like to improve this year. But I was out the other day, and I could throw my putter about the same distance of my drivers (Around 250-300). What the...
