Not too crowded
Great challenge without the crowds.
I'm a bit partial because this once was my neighborhood course. Because it only has 15 baskets right now it has a bit of a bad rep. right now, but the amount of people packing all of the other courses in the city of Austin, (especially with...
Seeing as finding disc golf coincided with my body deciding to be super allergic to poison ivy, I find myself wearing pants to play disc golf even on the hottest of days.
That, and the sad reality that there sure are a lot of thorns in that damn shule I'm in all too often. -:(

Common courtesy is what it all boils down to. There is no one "rule" to work off of all the time. Every course has a different feel. Know where you are before you let them run free. What works at one course may not be kosher at all somewhere else. Just like you get layered up to go play in...

Nice quick round
I can agree with many here that for a course built in some retention ponds behind some apartments, it is pretty nice.
That being said, the park is more than just some open fields*cough cough*(Old Settlers) and takes good use of the trees in the Northwest corner.
I like the...

Starting to break in?
We didn't get to finish all the holes, but were able to get a general feel for this new course.
For being built between suburban subdivisions, there are some very interesting holes here, crammed into a creek bottom.
It is nice to see Leander getting some disc golf courses...

Glacial Golfin
One of the most exclusive courses in the world, due to its remoteness. Played by less than 15 people a year, probably. This can also make it tough to find your way around without someone who knows the course(there are no signs of any nature).
Devil's 9 plays through the thick...

Desert Solitaire
The natural beauty and views at this course on the Colorado River are unmatched in my disc throwing experience. Some holes have an otherworldly feel to them due to the extreme features of the landscape.
That being said, you can expect radical elevation drops that allow the...

Beautiful solitude. Clean air, everything I love about being in New Mexico. Not a lot of traffic the day I was out there. Nice use of elevation when available. I can't remember which hole, but one on the front nine is a great down hill shot with the pueblo in the background and much...
Only 1 or 2 in Austin?
I was unable to track down the full initial question, but depending on how much time you have, I would definitely play one round out in Manor (East Met. Park).
It's not too far out of town(dep. on which part you are in) and it is really nice(cement tees/signs/etc.)...

Nice course in national Forest. Lots of trees and distance from town are very nice. Just like many of my favorite courses this one makes you feel like you are out in nature.
Did have a bit of a tough time finding a few holes, but all in all had a great day passing through.
Busted a flat...

Very peaceful and lush. Excellent use of terrain.
Didn't have time to sample the B&B, but hosts were plenty helpful. Not just beautiful land but well designed and fun golf as well.
I don't get to pass through there much in my travels, but will make a point to stop again when I do.
I really...

Skagua
Great use of the space occupied. Excellent views of surrounding mountains and the Skagway river. Nothing too long, but lots of trees place importance on accuracyd. Never too much traffic on the course.
"Home of the North Wind" is one interpretation of the original native name for...

Mmmm spruce tip!
Eagles in the air, and I'm not talking about discs. Great views as well.
The quarry in the middle adds some long drive opportunities, and multiple tees do provide good variety the second time through.
The alders on this course are very thick and lead to a plethora of...

Top Notch
Feel "lost in time" in what appears to be an original growth forest. Lots of elevation and wide variety of shots. Don't need a "huge" arm.
If you are traveling through Juneau on the Ferry, it is a great place to check out. Just hike out or thumb a ride, not far "out the road"...
