Quick summary
Jeff Stoops will post full results.
Briefly, David Wiggins Jr threw 255 meters which was the longest throw of the competition. Amazingly, that is the same distance as his prior World Record throw.
There were many excellent throws well over 200 meters i'm told. I have been...
Big Thanks to Jeff Stoops
He put on the event and also was a participant, and fwiw, he has thrown farther (186 meters) than anyone within 15 years of his age
Even higher winds
All the above is true until the winds are high enough to simply blow the disc out there with minimal aerodynamics. Then a lightweight MTA type disc would be best
Wind v elevation
At elevation, the discs fly less far if there is no wind. This is because the decreased glide outweighs the decreased wind resistance as a factor Enough wind at elevation tips the balance back in favor of longer throws because by throwing into a left to right crosswind, the...
Day #3 Preview
Excellent winds predicted. The throwers have been saving their energy for this opportunity. There is an excellent chance of some big throws

Latitude 64 Air Invitational
I'd be interested in seeing the announcement and results from this competition if anyone has a link/links. Also, was it by invite only as the name would imply?
I'm pulling for Wiggins but admittedly am somewhat biased :-). Someone from NC or just across the border in SC will take it. Homefield advantage will play a big role - as well as talent of course. MJ, Schwebby, Todd, Koling, Wysocki, Wiggins, Gallops, Bryant. Did I leave any out? Look for them...
This was posted April 15th on the PDGA website:
FWIW, I chose the date for this event based on 3 considerations.
Most importantly, I had the time available. I work many weekends and do not have every weekend off. I had to work the weekend prior to this event.
Second, it is before April...
I did not say certain, I said likely. I am a scientist. I take exception to the "conspiracy theory" slur. The odds of these events occurring randomly is much less likely than them occurring with some motivation at least. I'll stand by that. Either way it does not change the major points I was...
