As a Disc Golfer who achieved the Grandmaster division this year, my longest disc that I bag is an Opto Saint.
I can toss it out 350 on a smooth throw without much effort and without fear of injury. It works from a standstill. It will go 400 if ripped.
Great feel. Great glide. Great disc...
Here is an article from ultiworld, ultimately, released from Latitude64s marketing department.
https://discgolf.ultiworld.com/2022/02/17/latitude-64-buys-stake-in-kastaplast-will-start-producing-their-discs/
It would be great if Lat64 got some Kastaplastics- that is the only reason Lat64 would...
This comment refers to the fact that the machines, the people, the plastics and even the building where all those great Kastaplast discs were made have all changed. All that is left is the name and imitations of the original discs, now all made by Latitude.
They cannot and will not ever be the...
All I am saying is that the Sidewinder (which I love and is a wonderful disc) does NOT have a BEED!
If yours does, then it’s not a sidewinder.
The long blowhard post is all garbage.
If your sidewinder has a beed you should sand or cut it off. It’s a manufacturing defect.
Roadrunners have a...
I have had a lot of Sidewinders. Patent number sidewinders, CFR sidewinders, Star and Gstar sidewinders. None of them have a ‘micro bead’. That is flashing. Take it off and the sidewinder will fly significantly faster, with more glide and less stable.
But the new Barsby’s are color glow.
(?)
What color glow do you have and what the heck are you actually comparing it too?
The 2021 Barsby stars were super stable but also glidey as all heck. (Kicked my domey backhand Firebird out of the bag.)
Understood. In that case it sounds like the New Embossed Champion Thunderbirds with a dOme are beefy and I know the old flat penned stars are stupid stable.
So… it really comes down to which plastic you like and if you want them flat or not. Maybe get one of each and tell us which are the...
I think @CD is correct. I was responding to Twisted Ravens comment above that clearly is asking about Star Thunderbird stability, so I will reiterate-
The Star Thunderbirds that are penned/not embossed with the two color stamps are the overstable flat ones. I used to prefer them as my...
That’s interesting. I have not experienced that at all.
What is your sample size?
Do they have the two color stamp?
Anyone else have experience with new domey embossed thunderbirds being more overstable than the older flatties?
I’m not an Aficianado, but I’ve been throwing thunderbirds for quite a few years. The penned Star Thunderbirds with two color stamps (top one color, bottom another) are the flat top beefy ones.
SS Wizard
Seasoned Star Eagle (NOT Barsby)
Ace Race Heat
The Wizard and Eagle can power up and down to cover most mid shots. I would miss having a Pig though- I suppose that’s why usually I go for 5 disc rounds.
($20 baseline putters? Really?)
