I'm not sure how Terry could be sure of that without picking up the disc and looking at the line. It did not appear that any white appeared between the disc and in-bounds, so in my thinking it should have been in-bounds:
806.02 B A disc is out-of-bounds if its position is clearly and completely...
I think this is one of the few times that I've disagreed with you, although I do understand your point. Personally, I want my commentators to be willing to call out questionable decisions, point out inconsistencies, and offer honest opinions. From my view of the disc and the line (not sure if...
Rule writing is always tricky. The more latitude you allow, the more space for a crafty player to exploit it.
Except in the case where it is long of the basket, in which case a lot of odd stuff can happen.
Yeah, there were several players putting from the pond when it expanded past the OB lines. It was either that or take casual relief another 75 feet back. I think its just one of those "shit happens" scenarios.
I meant to post this to the Champion's Cup updates shortly after the tournament, but a busy work schedule and a memorial service for a close friend pretty much turned this into more of a travelogue or meanderings of crazy old man, so I'll risk posting it here.
First of all, very well-deserved...
I'll be heading over there tonight. I plan to catch an early FPO card to get the feel of the course, but might skip the MPO action tomorrow and play one of the local courses in the afternoon. I have the rain gear and umbrella, so will be out there rain or shine. Any idea when the cards will be...
I'll have to add it back to my list. I walked around and played a few random holes last Fall, but UDisc or my phone was not being very helpful so I left. With the rain and warm weather, it might be a jungle by the time I get down there.
I was disappointed by my brief visit last Fall. I was...
Yep, my experience as well. I was actually surprised that this HS Firebird gave me such a rough time. My HS Thunderbird flies very similarly to the Star Thunderbird that I have in my howling wind bag, so I expected the same would be true for the Firebird. It's only slightly heavier than my Star...
I've had good luck asking for "the lightest available" or "something in the 160s." Sometimes the best weights for me just aren't available and those I can generally find homes for.
Pretty annoyed with myself. Tournament at Stonelick today and had my worst round there in months. Finished 9th of 16 in MA4, but 10 points under my rating. I expect to have a few bad throws and bad holes, but mental errors cost me at least six strokes today.
The tournament itself was great and...
Back to the FPO...
Love the lead card today. Will be a great test for Holyn and Silva on lead card.
Other stuff:
What's up with Hanna Huynh? Seemed like a player with huge upside last year, but seems to be regressing this season. Pressure of a new contract? Not adjusting to her new discs...
Oooh, I do like the Hawkeye. I always bag it on courses where placement is more important than the extra 25' feet I can get with throwing flippier stuff. Now to decide if the six of them in my inventory is enough...
I got one of the Firebirds as well, but, unfortunately, although I requested a...
Thanks! I thought that was the case with Fajkus, but saw that she is still listed on the Lone Star page. One of my favorite players, from when I first started following the pro tour a few years ago.
DeAnn is playing pretty well today, so happy to see her prove me wrong.
Really good to see...
Holyn birdies 5 of the first 7 and is -5. I thought the course might suit her pretty well, especially with the changes to add some distance.
Stacie now -1 after back to back bogeys.
I'm frankly surprised by some of the players who are struggling today.
Ella and Kat - even
Holly Finley and Ali...
