[Vibram] Vibram Disc Golf Thread (Part II)

After reading about people's love of the Trak I made sure to try it a lot this last weekend, and you guys are right! It's an amazing disc with lots of potential. I'm using a Soft and it goes so straight and sits nicely; having a harder time making it be a longer Ibex, it wants to stable up at...

[Vibram] Vibram Disc Golf Thread (Part II)

For me, a beat firm Ibex will keep that anny line, whereas my mediums will always fade at the end. The firm also has less glide. And yeah, it is similar to a Summit, but faster. I've heard that the Ascent is like a teebird/eagle, or "teagle." My friends agree with that when they see me throw...

[Vibram] Vibram Disc Golf Thread (Part II)

Much M Summit love here! It is my main disc for everything under about 80 feet, unless I need a big hyzer (VP) or anny (Ibex). Once the distance increases and I apply more power it heads way off to the right (RHBH); in that case I switch to the M Ridge. I recently saw, for the first time, a...

Port Angeles birdie bash Just signed up for my first birdie bash...so excited to finally get the chance to attend one! It will be at Lincoln Park in Port Angeles on 4/27. Combine this with Monday and Tuesday off from work and ending with a Machester Orchestra concert in Seattle and it's going...

Soft lace Got a 170g soft lace the other day and had the chance for about 6 throws in an open field. Normally I use a 164g M and can get it somewhere around 330' with a strong fade. Anything heavier and it fades too earlier, and lighter will flip and burn. Well, this soft flew so amazingly...

Soft discs A couple weekends ago my buddies and I found Greg looking for tour guides at SeaTac - and he was wearing a Legacy shirt, so we showed him the course. Turns out he was from LA and currently touring the Western courses so that he could review/assist with his buddy’s course directory...

As serious as I am old. I'm too old to hoard discs - need to get them in circulation and get more people loving the rubber.

Discs for Johnny Depth Since he gave us such the lively conversation, I will loan (notice not give) Johnny Depth some Vibrams I am not currently using: firm Summit, VP, Obex, Lace. I use all mediums right now. Contact me with your snail mail address....

Weight of the Lace In regards to the discussion of the stability of the Lace, I find that the heavier the disc the more stable the flight - but only in the mediums, can't speak to the firms. When I first started with the Lace I had a 159, and it helped me learn how to throw perfectly flat...

[Vibram] Vibram Disc Golf Thread (Part II)

I keep a firm Ibex and Trak in my bag, only because they don't fade at the end like their medium counterparts. They unfortunately also have less glide, and can really turn and burn if I don't release just right - definitely less forgiving. I agree that firms beat in quicker and become less stable.

Just got my first firm Lace today as well (165g, 4th Lace overall). After washing with soap it feels more like plastic than the medium Lace, IMO. Won't know which texture I will prefer until after a few days of play, and won't get to throw it until tomorrow afternoon. Favorite Lace so far is a...

    [Vibram] Vibram Disc Golf Thread

Just joined the group today because of how great my 159 M Lace was for me over the weekend. Prior to that I was using a 170 M Lace and was doing well enough, but for some reason I get my best release and flight from the 159. It flies straighter with less fade than the 170 - but that could be...
