For me, a beat firm Ibex will keep that anny line, whereas my mediums will always fade at the end. The firm also has less glide. And yeah, it is similar to a Summit, but faster.

Soft lace
Got a 170g soft lace the other day and had the chance for about 6 throws in an open field. Normally I use a 164g M and can get it somewhere around 330' with a strong fade. Anything heavier and it fades too earlier, and lighter will flip and burn. Well, this soft flew so amazingly...

Weight of the Lace
In regards to the discussion of the stability of the Lace, I find that the heavier the disc the more stable the flight - but only in the mediums, can't speak to the firms.
When I first started with the Lace I had a 159, and it helped me learn how to throw perfectly flat...
I keep a firm Ibex and Trak in my bag, only because they don't fade at the end like their medium counterparts. They unfortunately also have less glide, and can really turn and burn if I don't release just right - definitely less forgiving.
I agree that firms beat in quicker and become less stable.
Just got my first firm Lace today as well (165g, 4th Lace overall). After washing with soap it feels more like plastic than the medium Lace, IMO. Won't know which texture I will prefer until after a few days of play, and won't get to throw it until tomorrow afternoon.
