a more overstable destroyer?
I've had a destroyer a couple of weeks (star 169), and while it's certainly not designed to be "true stable", it is more overstable in no wind than my predators, max, Champ Starfire, T-Rex X... than pretty much anything besides a burly firebird or a Spirit/Speed...
Is this really an either/or dichotomy?
I and most of our cadre of local non-rec players have worked to get better, want to get better, but are also perfectly satisfied that much of our disc golf life revolves around our various weekly doubles leagues and casual rounds for two bucks.
So we...
It's not a bad idea. I play with one guy in his 50s who throws lefty to about 340, he is right handed but could never get over 270 or so RHBH due to fatigue issues.
Another guy we play with is also in his 50s, he messed up his right side real bad last year. He was so much of a dg addict that...
171g red custom stamp
I am impressed with it. My wife now uses it as her main putter, and her putting and approaching has improved tremendously. It does indeed fly like a new P&A, which is perfect for someone who needs a hint of stability on a straight flying/neutral putter.
When I use it...
Parks and highway rest stops have long been known for being "hook up" places for gay men.
One of the reasons why we have had several new courses erected (heh) in our area, was the perception that dg foot traffic will make certain restrooms and hook-up spots much less amenable to said...
Tommy: 290ish if I'm warmed up, significantly shorter than that if only half warm.
venom, Max, Spirit, Teebird, Starfire, 150 Eagle-X, Aviar putter
usually Max for distance unless I have the venom in the bag, all others are for different flights. Aviar is for an approach shot which needs to...
cobra is a great choice.
It really is true, that one learns quicker and better by throwing slower discs. And slower does not mean less far.
I'm in the camp that believes that it is good to throw a driver while learning, and not just midranges and putters. But much better an old school...
about 15 minutes to Visalia -- 3 courses at two locations (Mooney 's Grove has two 18-hole courses)
just under 30 minutes to Tulare -- 1 new course there
about 35 minutes to Hanford
just under an hour to Fresno -- Woodward Park
Everything else takes a special occasion
I often practice in a local field which has lots of walkers around the perimeter:
besides the "wow, you throw those things far..." comments, I am most often asked questions about dogs.
"Do you throw those things to dogs?"
"Wouldn't it be nice if you had a dog to return those discs"
"You know...

Star Teebirds are great discs, so are Champ Starfire X's, I have not thrown a Star Starfire, so I can't comment on that.
Right now I have a used Star Teebird and a used Champ Starfire (X) which take almost the exact same line. The Starfire is longer, the Teebird is better for line...
we really need to do that more. John, whose site I am directing you to, has started doing a nice job of it, but it would be nice to put up a hole by hole of the tournament setup (when most everything is in the longs).
