When I got into playing disc golf, I bought 2 used discs from the local pro shop at La Mirada. A 166g dx Archangel and a max weight Birdie. Still throw the Birdie from time to time, by the archangel I cant throw anymore
I used my G blend Aztec for the first time this past weekend. It was more flippy than I had expected it to be. Not a bad thing though. Once i understood how to throw it, I must say I like it a lot. I think it will need some more testing before i decide if it will stay in my bag though.
I also agree on the used bag idea. I just picked up a DD Ranger used for 80 bucks. And it had a pvc frame in it already that makes it useful as a seat on the course.
I’ve seen a bunch of used bags on OfferUp and Craig’s List for under 100 dollars.
I play 1 disc rounds all the time. Depending on how I’m feeling I’ll use my old champ Rhyno or a dx/ xt Polecat.
Both discs are always in my bag, Rhyno is my main putter. It replaced the Polecat years ago, but I still love them kittys.
I’ve had a few days throwing my xt Polecat and I’m really liking it. Feels very similar to the old dx plastic. Flies the same as my dx as well. I’ve not noticed any difference so far. The new dx does feel a bit waxy compared to the old dx ( had to go check it out in person )
Headed out the the...
I’ve got a stack of pfn dx polecats. So I’ve never really looked at the new dx ones. To me, The xt plastic feels similar to the old dx plastic. But I don’t have my dx with me to compare the two at the moment...
Well, after a few months of throwing my champ Polecat, I’ve decided to go back to the dx one. Just doesnt fly like the dx does. Not horrible, but just prefer the dx plastic I guess.
Also, a friend just gave me a xt polecat so I’ll be chucking that one to see how it compares to the dx plastic
Me and my friends all decided to play a 1 disc round with Stegos. Was a freaking blast! Horrible scores, but who cares. Stego is a really stupid fun disc to throw!
I just picked up a champ polecat to try out. I use my old pfn dx polecats all the time. Love them! And I dug out my old Piranha too. First time throwing that sucker in a long time. And hit a 75foot birdie with it! Man that felt good. But yeah, lids are awesome.
