Powdered down (45? mph) on a flex line gets pretty equal movement on both sides of center with a landing zone around 300' as the crow files. Personally, I couldn't get it past 360' without a left to right cross wind which pretty much kept it on a near rope line another 20' due to more forward...
Ok, I never tried the gstar TL3 but the star falls dead center b/t the star TL & star TB. I had no hint of the TL3 turning over outside of a head wind and I did have some good wind to test it. I release all out in the high 50's mph and it took a 12-15 mph head wind to turn it to any noticable...
I picked a 169 up and it has the same dome as pfn TL's, a slightly narrower rim (speed 8?) but you can tell from the shape of the rim that it's going to be more HSS than the TL. Should throw accordingly but tomorrow I'll be giving it a whirl.
Another true story lol I found a super sun weathered disc with only a capital M and some barely visible scattered numbers on it and after washing it with my drinking water, slowly started to dial the phone number, one digit at a time with lots of squinting, angle shifts, asking guys on my card...
True story. Found a 8/10 CE Leo on a mountain course with nothing but a symbol on the back and posted on the course FB page using only the front of the disc. A few ppl claimed it was their but couldn't confirm the symbol so I told them they were full of it. Eventually figuring I could keep it, I...
I couldn't imagine a round without my two beat, Ontario pros. One for hyzer-flip-to-rope-line straight and the other for slightly stable duties. Those and my beat-to-straight Ontario DX putter. Never found much use for new Rhynos though.
I put a 2' long, 4x4 on a towel in my passenger seat and use the disc as a drum stick, rotating it every so many beats. Throw it every 30 or so minutes of tapping to make sure you haven't gone further than you want.
I prefer to use weight (specifically max) for my most OS "distance" (key word there) driver over say, PLH since, although both can offset headwind in regards to matching the flight pattern of a less OS disc with no wind, flight pattern is only part of the equation. The other factor we fight with...
