How many discs are in your bag?

I almost always play solo, so I throw two rounds every round there aren't a bunch of other folks on the course. Thus I get to see if my first choice was a good one or not. At my age, 58, I also never know if I'm going to be 350' Rob, or 280' Rob, so I have different, less stable discs for those...

Review by Robsolow in course Lone Star DGC

4.50 star(s) five star Lone Star +Trees! Like all good courses, this course has so many well-placed trees, not only bracketing the fairways, but also guarding the easy hyzers and grenades. +Elevation. Built on top of severall hills, there are steep, 400 foot downhills and tough 300 foot uphill shots...

Legendary Discs of the Professional Tour

I define legendary differently than the experienced disc golf loremasters do. For my group of dg friends, legendary days, legendary rounds and legendary discs are the ones with intricate, funny stories around them, great sunny day rounds or improbable, drunken aces. I wish sometimes I knew all...

    Step/Jump Putt rule change?

Aesthetics is as aesthetics do. I think it's more like the step-back three, or even the Euro. You WANT to say foot fault, just like you want to say traveling on the step-back and the Euro.

DGPT: 2020 The Preserve Championship July 3-5

John McEnroe keeps coming to mind when I consider Nikko's anger management issues, and whether the player's excellence is worth the tantrum style of tennis or golf, respectively. I love his style of throwing and his "up Nikko" personality, but I despise "down Nikko" and, as with all poor...

Are 150’ aces really a deal?

I am a frequent solo thrower, and have several aces with no witnesses. My buddy Dimar heard me complaining about no witnesses and said, "Shut up about that. An ace is a f____g ace." So I shut about it. An ace is an ace. Witnesses and ace-pots are amazing, but a solo ace is still sweet.

    Fate of a disc

We used to play night golf at a restaurant I worked at, a one-disc round using fire hydrants as goals. All around the course were "hazards," of unlit patches, so we kept our eyes peeled. When someone would inevitably throw their disc on top of a building, which would necessitate getting the huge...

The inevitable re-attempt at a 2020 Pros Switching Sponsors Thread

O Gods of Disc, please do not hate the colordislexic among us who try and ignore the HUE and cry of others who name your platters' shades unto insanity! Pink is pink. Salmon is a fish, magenta is Magneto's ex, and O help us!

What makes a great disc golf course ?

I have played a course where the main feature of the course was fear of losing a[nother] disc, which is the extreme. There are a couple other courses I play where I only use my extras to throw on certain holes. I am not a course designer, but I think the key sensation is: did I choose to risk my...

Review by Robsolow in course Oregon House - Original

3.50 star(s) A Series Of Fortunate Events Lots of benches, garbage cans and shade. Multiple pins on most holes. Water/OB/trees and altitude changes are present on every hole, sometimes in concert with each other. I enjoyed my second round a lot more once I got to play with the owner, as the guide they print...
