Am I only imagining this?
A football can be thrown so that the spiral maintains one axis angle for the entire flight, or thrown so the spiral axis follows the flight arc. I think putting can be the same, but idk what's involved.
Haha- but no. Putt your putter like… Calvin? (Who makes putts with no spitouts?) but then AFTER that, throw the disc you want to break-in like Gannon putting! Better yet like an AB drive after he’s lost the lead.
During your rounds, throw the disc HARD into each basket after you putt. It usually takes a round or less to beat in. Alternately, blast it into the practice basket 20x and you’re good to go. Tomahawks straight down into hard dirt work too.
It could be that some camera angles are fooling my eye. Probably just this simple. I'll try to pay attention and get a clip of an exaggerated example to discuss.
ETA Simon’s nose-up:
No. I just notice it sometimes watching him (and Rick). Here is a very mild example from footage this morning at LVC. It’s like he launches it slightly nose-up from level, and then as it rides the nose goes further down.
Calvin’s putt is just a bit nose up out of his hand, flat at the top of the arc, nose down as it enters the basket. Simon’s putt is nose up entire flight. Gannon’s is nose down entire flight. Ricky’s usually nose down entire flight, but sometimes has the same flight as Calvin.
What causes the...
Terry also did it was OB. The reason we can’t tell is we have one 2-dimensional angle.
BUT- it will be very fun golf if players start calling things as they see them instead of turning the other way. In the case of this disc, there is no benefit goes to the player thinking. They see the disc...
Hole 18 MPO does not look ‘hard’ by the pro standards. The Jomez round they were saying how easy it played. Anyone know how Paul got a triple? Did he miss a put into the water? I could see that. Now, had the wind been 30mph… all bets are off for any hole.
I like this course. It’s not my favorite, but it’s likable. Can’t wait to see if hole 16 DZ psychs people out final round. Parker W airmailed it into the pond for a double. Rick shorted his 25’ birdie putt.
Not a fan of new hole18, or at least I don’t think I am.
