That's how mine all fly (neutron locks in, fission has that extra drift) - how do the new ones fly differently, for you? I dig the "notch" at flat. That, and not being terribly nose angle sensitive, are the reasons I took the Scorch out of my bag in favor of the Wave. Knowing it would flip to...
I've found mine pretty consistent, if I'm honest. I've got a 154g Fission that's unreasonably flippy, but each flies relatively the same, for its weight. I've got a 156 Cosmic Neutron that's definitely a step flippier than the 168g Neutrons I've got - but no more than you'd expect from dropping...
Let's be real here for a second - collectors have been charging prices that are too high for discs they consider to be rare for decades. See the historic prices of USDGC Rocs for example. They're discs nobody was buying to throw, and solely inflated the collectors market for collecting.

Mine is the same stability as the max weight Z Swirl one I normally bag - but where the max weight one is a little domey, the Z Lite is total puddle top.
I've thrown a Z Lite Heat, as well. Definitely more difference between that and it's full weight counterparts, than the Raptor.
I just noticed looking through the MVP Pro Shop site that there was a run of prototype Proton Watts. Anyone manage to snag one of them? How do they compare to the Neutron ones?
It's more of a midrange than an approach disc like the Zone or Ringer series, though. My friend tried it out to replace the Malta, which she doesn't like the feel of. I haven't bothered with any of Discraft's more overstable offerings. They're not for my power level or style of play.

For what it's worth, I do find that Z-Swirl flies notably different from the other plastics in the current lineup. I've usually liked it better, because of that. My favorite Fierce, modern Comet, and Raptor are all Z Swirl. More glide on all of them, but they're also more resistant to turn than...
I had the same opinion of the two I had (bottom stamp, and DGLO run). Totally useless for my bag, so I gave them away. Way more overstable than the old run Force I bag for headwinds and Skippy hyzers.
Got some practice rounds in with @ChrisWoj for this coming weekends tournament. Without the tournament nerves, I shot -3 on the hard course, and something like even (before I was warmed up) on the long course. That would've won me the tournament last year. Let's see if I can pull it off this...
I actually switched to the Mantra, for the slot you're trying to fill. Good flip, controllable though, and reliable fade - combined with absolutely ridiculous glide. The flip is a bit steep, but I've enjoyed it, now that I know I just need more hyzer.
