I just bought a TL, and I'm not at all disappointed. I haven't thrown many of the discraft discs being tossed out there, but I've used my TL only a handful of times, and it's quickly becoming my favorite disc because of how straight it flies.
I just recently switched to a 3 finger power grip (the one pictured in the article), and it's almost eliminated the griplock problem I had with a 4 finger grip. I've got much more control with the 3 finger grip, and it doesn't really cost me much (if any) distance.
It just feels more...
I've been struggling with this as well. I started driving backhand, then switched to primarily forehand, but now have gone backhand dominant again. I was getting some serious elbow pain from my forehand, and I tried to tweak my form and almost lost my forehand completely.
My LHBH turnover shot...
That's it. It was a few weeks ago when we dove in, and I've since heard quite a few stories about how stupid that actually was. I don't think I'll be going in again, but when I play through I still cruise the edge because I've pulled 3 discs from the water about a foot from the shore.
edit: I...
I am thankful to have courses with water hazards near me because many people leave their discs in the water because they're unwilling to fetch them. I'm all for returning discs with names and numbers, but I've recently found a brand new champ beast that's become one of my favorite discs; it was...
I have been playing since early June of this year, so about 2 months. I have been playing pretty seriously from the start though; I have trouble enjoying things if I'm not good at them. Disc golf is really challenging though, so I love trying to improve my game.
I am itching too; I just started throwing discraft discs after I won some in my first tourney. I'm loving my Z Pred and my Chryztal Z Buzzz, and I have a FLX ESP Challenger that I really like to putt with. I've got the money, but I hate taking flak from my girlfriend when she sees the box come...
I love my Rhyno for windy approaches, but the rim sometimes makes me goof on my puts. My SS Wiz definitely gets eaten by the wind, but my strategy, whether it's good or not, is to throw harder so the wind has less time to affect my disc.
I just played 6 holes of disc golf and missed 5 15-20 foot putts.
Ridiculous.
I need to choose and style and stay with it, but it's hard for me to continue with one when I never see consistency.
I hear that. I had an awesome day at the course the day after I started pitch putting, then it started to fall apart. When I was practicing the snap the other day, I was hitting the chains 12/15 times, but when I took it to the course a few days later, I was garbage.
My approach game is pretty solid, and it's improved tremendously since I've started using a Pro Rhyno almost exclusively for approaches. I love how I can throw it hard and it won't sail past the basket.
I don't have much confidence when putting anything lately, as I've been trying to change my...
One of my most impressive putts was a pretty similar 35' forehand from behind some nasty shrubbery. Being a primary handler on my ultimate team has given me a really good sense of forehand-anhyzer disc movement (I bend a lot of my throws with anhyzer-or outside-in in ultimate-to allow the...
I've got bad forehand form because I throw a lot of my forehand drives like I throw my outside-in (anhyzer) hucks when I play ultimate; I turn my wrist over at the end almost all the time.
However, I find that I can still get some pretty decent distance (300-330ft) when I throw my Star Monster...
I throw lefty forehand for left turning shots, but I'm learning long anhyzers because forehand hurts my elbow if I throw it exclusively. If I'm throwing something really understable (roadrunner), I usually go with hyzer flip. Also, I've got a beat up R-Pro Boss (162) that I can hyzer flip really...
My backhand has been pretty lousy lately, so I've been worried about the same thing. What I've been trying lately is to pretend that I'm playing holes that I'm familiar with. I drive on a football field, so I stand near one goalpost and throw to the other (360'); I've only really recently...
