Muddy Riverside Park Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 21, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Lush green and beautiful in the summer.
A few nice holes.
Lovely river views and peaceful serene park vibes.
Night lights.
Lots of free parking.

Cons:

Super muddy, especially near the baskets and some tees.
Hard to find and navigate, poor signage.
Fairways are full of pedestrians when the weather is good, which is basically the only time it's dry enough to play here.

Other Thoughts:

Hole 18 is probably the stupidest hole in all of discgolf. A 35m par 2 without obstacle, Why!? An ace for birdie that doesn't even feel like, or shouldn't even count as one.

fun course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 14, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Good variety of shots. There were a few long holes, but for the most part it is a good course to work on your approaches. A variety of hyzer and anhyzer shots. Beautiful park. There are many walking trails here, but there is not much danger of interfering with pedestrians in the park.

Cons:

The course is not marked well. Fortunately the ground was wet so I was able to see where people before me had walked. Hole 17 was difficult to find as it was a significant walk from hole 16. Tees were a little short and slippery when wet. There are no signs.

Other Thoughts:

There is no hole 18, so the course does not end near the tee for hole 1. Overall I enjoyed this course a lot and thought it was a beautiful park! One word of warning I have is that if you pay in the wet season, the entire course is very soggy. Overall though I enjoyed this course a lot and with some signs and one last hole, it would be a great course!

In need of maintenance 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 30, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

The scenery: the course is adjacent to the Vantaa river (I believe it is the Vantaa), so the location is very nice in certain parts. After hole 5 the course becomes rolling green hills and very spacious. Other facilities are nearby such as a uimahalli (swimming hall) where you can sauna afterwards. There are really only two long holes, specifically hole 17, but because a good part of the course is open you can work on your long rang throws.

Cons:

The first five holes are not very good and sort of packed into each other with a fence to your right and the river to your left (so accuracy is key). The tee off areas are in need of improvement and signage is definitely needed.

There is no indication of par for each hole and the baskets do not have a top ring. Basically, each hole is marked on the basket with a number, so in certain parts you do need to walk up to the hole to make sure you are throwing at the correct hole or look around to find the right basket.

There is also no tee off for hole 18, and other players there told me the 18th hole was removed. It is next to the tee off for hole 1, so you can use the 18th basket for practice if you want.

Unless others have played before you that day then it might be difficult to follow the course path since there are no visible signs for each hole. So sometimes you may have to find either the basket or the tee off area to know where to go.

The start of the course is not marked.

Other Thoughts:

An easy way to find the course is to go to the Siltamäen uimahalli and walk to the nearby park next to the river. The start of the course is next to the parking lot by the tennis courts and football field. The first five holes wrap around the fence of the football field. The remaining holes work through the middle of the park and starting at hole 15 you need to work your way back to play holes 16 and 17 (the walk to hole 17 will be long, and this hole is also the longest in length... I would say par 5).
