Fun little DIY with character!

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 21, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

Lots of character.

Shot/line variety.

Owner is a cool guy!

Guaranteed to have the course to yourself.

Cons:

DIY on private property, so you'll need to arrange a tee time with the owner.

No signage & not on Udisc. You'll need a guide.

The rough is ROUGH in spots, especially in the Summer.

Other Thoughts:

I happened to stumble upon this course doing a Google search. It doesn't show up on Udisc or this website's map function, but does show up in the Search function. You'll need to email the address listed in the description to set up a tee time, and the owner, Sully, will likely play with you. This is good, because you'd have no idea where to go without him. LOL

On to the review...

The current setup is 20 holes on ~9 acres. But, from talking to the owner, it does occasionally change and he has plans to add a couple more holes on additional land in the semi-near future.

The current layout makes good use of elevation, rough, trees & buildings for a unique layout with lots of character that has an "old school" vibe. (It reminded me a lot of White Birch, but with longer holes.) You'll need a variety of shot shapes to challenge for birdies, but the distances are completely manageable. The rough can be very rough, especially in the Summer. No two holes felt the same.

The course features a good mix of open shots, gaps to hit, low ceilings, and wooded approaches.

Tee pads are a mix of gravel, mulch, rubber, concrete, and natural. (Being a DIY, there was definitely some experimenting going on.) Baskets are a mix & match, and all have lights for glow rounds. There are definitely some interesting pin placements. [I uploaded some current (July 2022) pics, although they're in a bit of random order since I didn't think of documenting until we were almost finished.]

I don't want to give too much away, so I'll just say that the course has a lot of character. If you can schedule a round, it's definitely worth the effort.

Discomania 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 5, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice mix of uphill , downhill , hyzer and anhyzer shots. all but the 440 ft par 4 is 2able by mere mortals. lots of fun.My friend threw a decent 6 under but owner Brian threw a record 9 under. Most holes in the 240-325 ft range with a wide variety of low hanging branches or disc-swallowing trees to navigate to the pin. most baskets are double chain and trap the disc well.

Cons:

Not really a con since Brian shows you where the T boxes are, but there are no markers to indicate where they are if he ever allows people to play the course unaccompanied. only a few tree jails on the back 9 if you shank it.

Other Thoughts:

fun course! If you are planning a DG road trip across Missouri, email Brian and tell him when you are hoping to play. He is available most days. It is NOT a pitch and Putt as he described. But if you can drive 270-325 accurately, you will shoot under the Par 55.
