Pros:
The pros are... the baskets. They are there, and they are in good condition.
The throwing area is kind of marked.
Cons:
The first and biggest con is the outrageous disappointment when you get to this course, seeing it's been rated 3.5 (the rating before this review) and thinking "wow this must be a really good school course! What a relief!" then getting there, and realizing I really should have looked at the pictures.
This course is 9 confusing holes, with no real challenge other than length (most over 300', a few over 400', and maybe 2 or 3 between 250-300).
The parking lot you think you're supposed to park in is right by hole 7, and you have to walk through the school grounds to get to hole 1.
There is no basket for hole 2 that I could find. Or maybe it was 3.
There are no real obstacles except when you play near the buildings, which are very much in play, both to be thrown around or towards. Oh and there's some roads very much in play. And you're throwing over a parking lot at one point too.
The trees (there are a few on hole 4, and then 7 trees in a field on the last few holes) are kind of used. But not strong enough for me to put this in the pros. I'm only mentioning because if you're expecting shot-shaping, thennn you will be disappointed.
Navigation is difficult, because the tee's are low to the ground posts with numbers on them, and an approximation of distance if I remember correctly. I wish I had noted that so I could update the page here. But there's no tee, and it's unclear which side of the post you're supposed to be on. I threw from whichever side made more sense. Once you find a couple holes in a row, it kind of makes sense and you get the flow. But getting started on it can be a real challenge if you've never played here before.
The pics look out of date, actually, from what I said earlier (or later, i forgot where I wrote that I needed to look at the pics better). It looks like maybe just the tees have moved a little, but the main takeaway from the pictures should be the terrain, not the hole. That's more helpful in this case.
The field the back 4 or 5 holds some water and can get fairly muddy.
Other Thoughts:
This course is in a jr high, and I was surprised by the distance for middle school players, but not very surprised at the hazardous design of playing around buildings, a football field, right along roads (three roads around the school), throwing right at the school, and throwing near what looks like a little garden area?
I feel like a 1 is still kind of being generous, but- actually you know what it is being generous I'm going to slide it down to a .5. I cannot comprehend how this course would even be "Passable" given how out of context the design is, the hazards, the lack of defined tee- really the only thing this course has going for it is the good baskets, and the fact that you really can let your drives rip on a good number of the holes.
Oh, and if you park in the main parking lot the directions take you to, you have to between the school and the football field/buildings around the field, to find hole 1 in a courtyard area, which throws to a basket over a parking by the football field fence. Or you can just walk to whichever tee you see and go in whatever order seems to make sense to you like i did.
Good luck if you're going to play this course! It's easy, don't expect much.
