A seminal work on the topic is "The Talent Code" by Daniel Coyle. A pretty easy read and a great instructional guide to help you get into a mindset like and ways to practice to become the best in the world. It works. Plus, it's amazingly simple.
What has been said for years by Scott Stokeley is to throw the slowest speed disc you can to eliminate the greatest possibility of error. ie/ A putter vs a PD2 for upshot. Simple but it works extremely well.
Personally, when I was playing more (I've had to take some time off), I was throwing...
If you watch Jomez or anyone else with good knowledge of what the guys are throwing, VERY FEW throws are full-on distance drivers. Even at that, most aren't going more than a Wraith anymore. There are exceptions, but the trend is absolutely toward slower but more accurate discs. IOW, all out...
Add a few courses to what InnocentCrook posted:
--Ryan's Course in Shelbyville for a monster, championship-level course. (30 mins east of Louisville on I-64.)
--Wendell Moore DGC is 20 mins north east of Louisville and is absolutely picturesque and pretty decently challenging. Pretty open...
I really wish I could remember where it was. Too much time has passed. However, you know as well as anyone that they aren't the same as "normal" pd2s. The shape is pretty different, as well.
Just curious, could anyone compare these to a discmania P2 for driving? They look to be nearly identical, maybe a tad more understable. FWIW, I drive a lot with putters, maxing out around 350' or so.
People blasted (relatively) me here for saying it but I think I remember seeing Jussi say something to the effect that the glow PD2s are retooled PD2s, something more akin to a test run of Cloudbreakers. They're not THAT flippy but they are much closer to CBs than to PD2s...
For me, the glow PD2s are a lot like a new (NOT Ricky) destroyer, except with more glide. Slight turn at high speeds with lots of fade but a good amount of glide thrown in.
I had a question about the enigma vs DD3/Cloudbreaker. There, to me, seems to be quite an overlap here. In fact, there is apparently not much difference between the two. (Maybe it's specific to these runs?) Should the enigma have much less HSS vs the cloudbreaker?
I'm simply curious, as I...
I just picked up two DD3s but still no enigmas. However, when compared against my main DD (pop top shrykes), they are much straighter but just as long. The shrykes required some turn to get max d when thrown flat but the DD3s did not. It was really strange how much glide they had and sneaky...
I threw a comet on #9 at seviren lang (459' turnover downhill, plays closer to 425' or so) and parked it! Beat x comet thrown high and hyzered. I couldn't believe it went that far! Amazing glide!
