Easy to walk 9 hole layout. Cart friendly.
Decent use of land, trees, etc.
Practice basket w/ parking close by.
Bathrooms available somewhat close by.
Concrete tees, signs, Patriot baskets.
Surprisingly good variety of shot selection available.
Good combo of short and long holes.
Beginner friendly with par not being a walk in the park.
Advanced players will enjoy trying to shoot 5-9 down.

There's a concrete walking path that borders some of the holes, a misplaced drive can definitely end up hitting a pedestrian. (Holes #1, #2, #6, #9) So it pays to scan a bit down on the path before driving on these holes.

The fairway on Hole #1 can get a bit slippery/muddy when it rains due to the covert in the middle of the fairway.

Holes #7, #9 allow you to stretch out your drive a bit at the expense of having anything to get in your way.

For me personally this is a great course for field work. I routinely play it putter only and enjoy the challenge of shooting below par. The front 4 holes are ideal to make your own tees and challenge your various skills. On hole #1 it's fun to throw a regular shot but also play safari to basket #2.

Hole #6 (395ft) with the pond & walking path to the left and the creek to the right is the signature hole imop. You're typically driving in front of a few pedestrians who might acknowledge your good drive. A good drive straight down the pipe (with a slight right finish) could reward you with a birdie look, but you'll have to navigate a electric tower in the process. If you birdie hole #6, you've earned some bragging rights for sure.

With the land given to them, I think the layout is about as good as it could be. I wouldn't mind seeing something done with Hole #7. Maybe move the basket to the right, add some hay bales and make it an island hole.

There's some possible expansion in the works, but I'm not sure if it's even needed. For what it is, it's definitely the best 9 hole course in the area. Much better than Keene, Swau, Rio Vista.

Next time you play, bring just a putter and enjoy the increased challenge of getting par or better!

-the course is laid out well to avoid interference with other park users as much as possible but there is a walking path that can come into play on holes 1, 2, 6, 9
-most holes have trees in play around the green but holes 6-9 could use some obstacles in their fairways, it would be cool to see some new trees planted
-the parking lot is small for what seems to be a popular park, you may have to park on Gardens Blvd

Bailey Lake Park is a cool little spot with a few small lakes and a creek running through the wooded perimeter. I don't know if it was just the holiday weekend I played but there were lots of people fishing in the lakes and utilizing the walking paths.

The park and the course is bisected by Hidden Creek Pkwy so you have to walk under the overpass to get to the putting area and hole 1. The first 4 holes play on this (south) side of the park and the other 5 holes play on the opposite (north) side. Holes 1-4 play into, through, and back out of a moderately wooded area. The back 5 holes play mostly through a more open area with clearly defined tree lines on the left side of each fairway.

The Patriot baskets are in good condition and have flags on top to help with visibility. Most holes have trees around the green so the flags help. The concrete pads and informative signs make navigation really easy, plus there is a course map at the start. Each tee post also has bag hooks.

The holes are on the longer side but still beginner friendly. Advanced players will be challenged to shoot birdies on only a few holes while less experienced players will be challenged to stay close to par. The holes are straight forward and only holes 3-5 give you options to be creative off the tee. There is no underbrush so lost discs shouldn't be a problem unless a really bad shank kicks deep off the fairway into the creek or a really bad shank and skip finds the lake.

Locals were out playing a mini the day I played. It's cool that there is already a scene around this course after less than a year in the ground. I chatted with a few and heard that there are plans to add more holes in the future. I've heard that before but there seems to be land available to do it. We'll see.

The course is a pretty quick play and the walk between the two halves isn't as long as it looks. For DFW locals, it's worth checking out as a warm up the next time you're heading to Bicentennial. Course baggers can add this stop on the way to Keene and Cleburne, you should be able to clear the whole SW fringe in one trip.

-- 18 holes. Course was redesigned and now has 18 holes, including two water carries. The added holes carry you north, away from the rest of the park, into an area that was mostly unused.
-- Best holes are 12-14, all with water in play. Twelve is 207 feet, but the basket is 12 feet from the water. Thirteen and 14 are true water carries (about 225-250 each). Both offer a bailout for those unable or unwilling to throw that far.
-- Other added holes (9-11) make good use of woods and reward accuracy over distance.
-- No. 16 is a monster (656 feet) with a 20-30 foot wide fairway to a basket guarded by a tree.
-- New baskets (Patriot).
-- Concrete tee pads.
-- Set in a multi-use park, but it mostly avoids other park users, especially the added holes.
-- Mowed fairways and paths between most holes.
-- Tee signs for the original holes are well marked; the new holes have small laminated signs attached to small wooden posts; those need updating, but the local club has done such an amazing job so far on the redesign that I am confident permanent tee signs are in the works.
-- Multiple bag hooks on tee posts for the seven holes from the original design.
-- Signs alerting non-golfers of the dangers of flying discs.
-- Restrooms at parking area.
-- Practice basket.

-- Baskets are not numbered. Not a huge problem, but there are a couple of times when you can see multiple baskets from a tee.
-- Four really long walks (parking-1, 5-6, 17-18, 18-parking). The first one can be eliminated by parking across Hidden Creek Parkway and following the path down to the practice basket and No. 1 tee.
-- Some of the rough on the new holes is REALLY thick.
-- No map on site.

-- Many of the cons from the previous design (no water carries, tee signs too close to tee pads) are gone.
-- This was a very nice beginner course, but not so short or easy as to give a false sense of confidence. The added hole are not nearly as beginner friendly, requiring either accuracy or some measure of distance with water carries.
-- Mando signs on Nos. 1 and 7 are unclear. I think they intend for the mando to be the towers for the power lines.
-- Nos. 1-5 are south of Hidden Creek Parkway. The remaining holes are north of the road.
To get to the No. 6 tee, take the path under Hidden Creek Parkway and follow it around to the right. Walk behind the No. 18 basket and toward the creek.
-- I originally rated this course 2.5, but raised it to 3.0 based on better signs and concrete tee pads for the 9 holes. Now with 18 holes, this is a minimum of 3.5 (probably closer to 3.75). With permanent tee signs, map and some minor trimming, this will be a 4-disc course.

This is a super clean park not far off the highway. The baskets are great and new. The layout is actually pretty fun. Some trees on most holes but nothing too hard for a 9 hole. Signs are easy to follow and they actually ask you for feedback. They only have 1 tiny hill but they used it. Great use of land.

Some fairly long walks from parking and under bridge. No distance on signs. No concrete pads but i don't mind they have it well marked.

There is some cross overs but on this 1 it makes since you can see why.

Under bridge to get to 1 easy to see once you are under bridge.

I am sad this isnt 18 it was pretty fun.
