More of a rec course than a seasoned players course

This is a beautiful city park, just off downtown next to the River.

While most of the holes are shorter, there are a couple that take a pull so you get to air it out.

Hole 7 is "now" a low basket, looks like the river has flooded and deposited a sand bar under the basket. Another flood, you may have to dig the basket out of the ground.

Hole 8's tee pad is now sand on top of the cement tee pad.

you can see on the large tree next to 8 how high that water got, looks like 12 foot underwater. on those holes.

Hole 9 is the signature hole, nice uphill shot to an elevated basket near the entrance to the park.

Would I play here again.

Actually, I quite enjoyed my round here. There were actually some rec players on the course, good thing to see on a small town course. If I where in the area and wanted to get a quick round in, I would choose here over the next 2 closes courses for sure.

-great concrete tees and Mach baskets
-excellent signage at each tee and a course map by hole 1
-makes good use of the trees available and the minor elevation changes
-extras at the park for the family: playground, pavilion, basketball and tennis courts
-great place for beginners and local practice

-limited resources in the park for distance and obstacles but what is there is used well
-simple, straightforward holes with not much to challenge

This is a great beginner course and is a different style from Seabourne Creek across town. It's simple with few places to lose a disc other than the brush along holes 5 & 7 or neighboring yards on the first few holes.

The holes are easy with few obstacles save a few trees. Hole 7 has a fun downhill shot and hole 9 has a cool basket location on an elevated pedestal. You can hang out between rounds under the pavilion or head over to Seabourne Creek for a different 9 holes. The pair make a nice combo.

This course is short, so that being said, leave your drivers at home. this is great course to practice and really get a feel for your midranges. Use the tree's on 1 and 2 as mando's to strengthen your turn over shots. That helps give this course more of a challenge. It's a great course for beginners to learn their discs on the first 4 holes, then let them rip on the last 5.

the Basket for hole 5 is almost totally engulfed by foliage, and if your Hyzer out early then that disc is gone. Hole 4 is similar in that if you let it go too early or too high, there is a decent chance you'll go over the fence. It is close to a main road, so please be careful on holes 8 and 9 (though Id imagine that it would still be hard to land a disc on the road)

It's not a destination course, but it's got concrete tee pads, the grass is well cut, and the lay out is a good use of up and down, with baskets placed on flat surfaces and on slopes. If you are in the area, it's a fun and quick round to play.

The tees are nice . i like short tees .....better chance to Ace a hole. Good parking. I like how it starts and ends at the parking lot

New baskets, new concrete pads, new tee signs, easy to follow course. Restroom is open unlike the course at CrossCreek. Good course to introduce new players to the game or to bring a family with younger children that want to try to play.

Small distance on first six holes, keep your driver in your bag. It was wet last time played so lots of mosquitoes, definitely bring bug spray. Standing water on hole 3. Dog behind tee 3 with the falling down fence is a little scary.

Nice beginner level course. Can play whole course with a mid-range and putter. Elevated basket on 9 is a nice finish.

Nice use of the elevation change (something southeast Texas does not have much of).

Some of the holes go right behind a few backyards, they had some barking dogs that worried me at first but then calmed down and let us be. Just made me nervous for a minute.

This is a nice little course that I will definitely be playing again. It's not amazing, but the the space available has been used well.

Everything on the course is in perfect condition right now. Freshly installed. Nicely elevated basket to finish on hole #9. For a small park there are some good/fun holes here. Nice elevation in play both up and down the hillside. Can be lefty/RHFH friendly, but balanced with one obvious righty hyzer hole. Ample parking for a 9-hole course with restrooms, pavilion, playground, basketball, volleyball, and tennis.

Some of the sign distances are off by 5-10' which you might consider significant on shorter holes like these. The course is short (take out the two ~300' holes and the remaining seven average just 223'), Advanced players and up will be upset with any hole they don't birdie. Basket #5 is really close to the poison ivy filled brush. Probably a temporary issues but the dead branch in the tree on #2 should be removed.

The course grew on me with each round. I liked hole #2, especially if you play a mando through the tree branch gap. Hole #4 can be a bit trickier than it looks with the slope behind the basket. #6 is a good hole now with the low hanging branch blocking the otherwise-easy hyzer shot; hopefully some jackhole doesn't rip down that branch. #7-9 are good a good finishing trio. This course isn't going to host any big tournaments, but if you're in the area looking for a fun course to play check out Brazos Park.
