Brand new permanent 9 hole course located on the nicely groomed property of Colts Neck High School. Innova Discatcher baskets with standout blue rims are at each hole along with sufficient 3'x 8' tee pads comprised of 1'x1' paver blocks. Though navigation is intuitive, wooden "next tee" signs help guide players around the course. Professional grade tee signs are affixed to 4'x 6' painted posts near each pad and depict hole number, par, distance and a map of the shot. The small bit of elevation on the property is incorporated into the layout, as is a short tunnel shot "ace run" which will appeal to students. At least five of the holes could be extended with temporary tee flags to allow for greater distance.

The course is short and will not present sufficient challenge for the advanced disc golfer. As the course is primarily open, there's not much opportunity to shape shots. Public play is limited to non-school hours, and as the course intertwines with existing sports fields, play is not possible during athletic practices or games.

Colts Neck High School becomes the 6th NJ high school to have a permanent course on its grounds and is the latest effort by the Jersey Shore Disc Golf Club to incorporate the sport into the state Physical Education curriculum, offering a safe, enjoyable activity for students. Thanks and appreciation are given to the Colts Neck HS Administration for embracing this initiative and to the many others who contributed to the project.

As with any high school course, the layout was designed so the average student can achieve success and to allow an instructor to adequately supervise PE classes. Seasoned players are asked to consider these variables when playing and/or rating the course.

The Colts Neck HS course is a fun little play and an ideal place for kids to learn the sport before tackling a more challenging 18 hole venue.
