12 is better than 9 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 10, 2021 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

12 holes is better than 9! Some nice mature trees but mostly an open course with 2 teepads per hole. Not a bad place to take a beginner, just the right mix of open and obstacles. Not usually very crowded and you don't have to worry about other users of the park.

Cons:

It can be a bit windy at times and the navigation isn't always the easiest.

Other Thoughts:

Some nice mature trees here but not old growth, there is very little true old growth left in the state.

Plainly Fun Field 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 19, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Old growth Pines and Sandy ground with a Country breeze

24 Pads and 12 Kingpins, beautifully Colored Kingpins :) 1-11 Orange Baskets with Greenglow Poles, and 12 with Blue Pole and Chartreuse Basket. Arrow on Number Plate points to next Hole

Tee Signs with Hole description, helps with navigation. 1 Long, 1 Short per Hole

Rubber Tees on flat sandy ground. Shorts are all Birdie-able, Red level lengths. Blue level Longs are great practice for throwing 10 to 12 Speed discs

Plenty of Shots to shape. The design uses the Pines to great effect. Fairways and Greens don't feel similar, and the Shot choices didn't get repetitive. It is open enough however, that you could throw any Shot off the Tee, but there is an Optimal line from each Pad.

Plays in a typical Rural City Park complex, but the DGC feels secluded

Plenty of room out there to have crammed an 18 hole DGC in, but this layout is Quality over Quantity. Plays as 24, anyways ;)

Cons:

Flat

First timers will get confused as to which Tee is next, due to some clutter in a couple spots

Older Golfers would like a Couple Benches

Other Thoughts:

Played this Summer and a couple Summers ago. Nice and Breezy both times. Tees and Grass were Dry after a big overnight Thunderstorm, and the course was not Buggy :)

Threw a little bit of everything for the 24hole Round. Shorts were Buzzz'/Rivals Backhand, and OLF/Outlaw Forehands. Longs were OLF/Outlaw Bombs, Fh and Bh. Lot of Forehands both loops, actually. Maybe Colyn throws Lefty!?!

Fun DG :)
