Pros:
Great variety of shots from wooded technical shots to a few open bomber holes. Very challenging course. Short and long basket locations on several holes.
Cons:
Update....tee signs are up with directions to the next tee.
Other Thoughts:
Locals refer to this course simply as Lakeside. The other course in the park is Parkside. All roads are OB The first 3 holes are short and tightly wooded. Number 4 gives you a chance to breathe a little and open it up. Then 5 puts a stop to that. Back in the woods. Very tight opening, going slight left to right. Fairway opens a little before doglegging slightly left towards the basket. 6 is a double dogleg, hard left then hard right with the basket on an anthill. There is an overhead opening from the tee but it's difficult to hit. 7 opens back up with a long open tee shot toward the dam. The short basket is on top of the dam but the long position is over the dam and about a 100' drop to the other side. Anywhere on that side of the dam that's not grass is OB. 8 goes back over the dam and over a spillway that is @100+ feet wide. OB anywhere in the spillway. 9,10,11 are back in the trees. 10 is the hardest on the course. Very long in the long position. Tight fairway with a 90 degree right to left bend. 11 is mando under the tree directly in front of the tee. Another tight fairway. 12 is long and you have to throw @250 across a pond with large trees on the opposite side, then @300 feet to the basket. 13 opens back up but is very long as well. @500'. Basket is tucked into the mesquites on the left. 14 throws over "cactus alley" toward the spring. 15 is the signature hole. No tee pad but there's a cut where we throw from. About 325' with the basket elevated on a 20' cliff. In the spring and summer months there's water short of the cliff. 16 is a long walk across the road and is a basic straight fairway with a few trees. 17 is another TIGHT mando off the tee into a tree filled fairway with OB on the road left. *note* past the fence behind the basket is OB. 18 is downhill and about 650'. Basket is guarded on all sides by large trees.
