Variety of Fun 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 22, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Tons of variety on this course: you've got manicured park areas through old growth trees, wide open uphill and downhill bomber holes, short drives over water, hillside tunnels, and some classic wooded fairways.

The park holes are pristine and fun with well-designed elevation changes and some stout old guardian trees. The wooded holes are scraggly and full of underbrush to keep you on your toes. Multiple pin placements up the repeat play factor, which helps cancel out the grip, rip, repeat feel of the back nine open bomber holes. The signature hole for me was the downhill run next to the dam. I always feel I should shoot better than I do, but damn if it isn't fun to let fly down the hill.

Navigation is pretty straightforward, though it does help to have the map or an app with directions.

You have the amenities of a city park on the latter half of the back nine with some playgrounds, water fountains, restrooms, etc.

Cons:

While water is in play on a couple of holes, they aren't really dangerous for the most part. The OB of the yard next to hole 1 was a bigger issue than that water, IMO. The walking trail is in play on the first few holes and the park street is in play on a couple others. Just be mindful of other park goers and it's not a big deal.

Distances aren't overwhelming for any experienced player and won't crush dreams for beginners, but pro arms will handle this course with ease.

While some consider it a pro, others may consider the hiking aspect of the wooded holes more of a con. Bring water and good shoes for the rocky slope. You'll need the water as you bake in the no-shade portion of the course that kicks off the back nine.

Signage is pretty basic as I recall (but it's been a minute since I played) and while there are rocks to take a break on on some of the wooded holes, there aren't dedicated benches.

Other Thoughts:

Super easy access from I-40 and a really fun course. I've stopped by on multiple occasions and drug the family around once or twice. Even if they aren't down to throw, they have other options. Wear good shoes, challenge yourself, and hydrate. Highly recommend this course.

Beautiful hike 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 24, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course is absolutely beautiful. It runs around a clear pond that was full of geese and ducks the day I played. It goes up through the woods and the view from the 9th tee is worth stopping and taking in before you launch your disc off the huge hill down to the pin.

Cons:

If you are new and have a max around 200 or so the pond on hole 2 might eat your disc.

If you play through the trees on the long pin on 2 you may miss the trail to 3 (it's on the trail between the pin locations).

Notice I said trail? That's because once you complete 2 until you complete 9 this course runs on what looks like a hiking trail. It has some pretty steep hills to traverse with big rocks.

Other Thoughts:

Over all this is an amazing course. I would suggest bringing shoes that you are comfortable hiking a trail in and a really straight disc for the tunnel shots.

I'm not in great shape so this course wore me out getting around it but I would play this course daily if I lived closer. That said most of the holes have a nice rock to sit and rest near the tees

Fun Factor? Yes! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 29, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course is set in a very pretty, very clean, very well manicured city park. There are adequate sized concrete tee pads on every hole as well as really good signage. There are also two pin placements. The course plays around a pond and is pretty easy to follow. There are markers on the bottom of the trays aiming toward the next tee along with signs. The course is half open with strategic trees, and half heavily wooded. All of the course has great elevation in play. There are playgrounds, a swimming pool, and the pond is full of fish. There's really no water danger in play. I played this with my wife and she really enjoyed it also. The pins were on the short placement, and she was able to score well, but the fun factor was still there for me.

Cons:

In the short placements, there are several similar lines. That's really the only knock in my mind.

Other Thoughts:

The course is right off of I-40. Go play it if you're in the area.
