Put It In Reverse. 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 26, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

(1.069 Rating) A short park style course needing much more investment.
- BEGINNER FRIENDLY - Not an ideal beginners course, but close. Short distances and hard to lose a disc. Skilled players will throwing for chain music.
- CHAINS - Adequate MVP Black Hole baskets.
- QUICK PLAY - Despite poor navigational conditions, I had this shorty wrapped up in thirty minutes. There are several short transitions between holes.
- MAINTENANCE - Fully maintained and free of trash on my visit.
- LOCATION - Just for your course bagging pleasure, Grace Park is not even a five minute drive off of the Interstate. White House DGC is also located less than five minutes down the road.

Cons:

New Course Issues.
- NAVIGATION - Nothing is marked. Not baskets, not tees and no directional arrows. I managed to find a map from a different source and still struggled a bit. I think the layout is still undergoing some tweaking so be cognizant of the added adventure possibilities. The course starts on the east side of a restroom building and then plays somewhat westward for two holes. After hole (2), head south about 250 feet and look for a rubber pad near some newly dumped debris piles. Play westward for 3 more holes. After (5), play north for three holes and finally, hole (9) plays to the west again.
- PARKING - After finishing, it's a 1,000 foot walk back to the parking area.
- BASKET AND TEE SEPARATION - Whomever laid out the course doesn't know proper spacing between baskets and tees. 3 or 4 tees were within the circle when I played. This is going to cause problems when more than one group is on the course. The pads do seem movable, so perhaps they will get shifted around at a later date
- SAFETY HAZARDS - I've seen much worse, but having to wait or electing not to play a hole may occur. (1) and (2) plays along a playground and (8) throws over the corner of a parking lot. In addition, school access roads come into play a few other times.
- LACK OF CHALLENGE - This may slightly change since the rubber pads are not affixed, but regardless, Novice level challenges currently. All simple and short park style shots.
- UNIQUENESS - To repeat, all simple short park style shots.
- CHARACTER - No extras were present. Its baskets and tees only. Off the course there are restrooms and playgrounds.
- TEES - Rubber tees laid on the ground with no concern for leveling.
- NATURAL BEAUTY - Meh. There's a nice aging tree canopy, but manmade objects are constantly in view. I scored the course a 2.125. This I felt was actually one of the better aspects of the course.

Other Thoughts:

The Grace Park course still needs a lot of refinement. It desperately needs markings the most, otherwise the locals that stray here will get frustrated and leave. However, even with a marked layout, this course is too simplistic to draw an experienced crowd. In its current state, it will likely only find play by school students and guests.
- PLAY IN REVERSE - Apparently, you can play the course in reverse after finishing nine holes. I saw several extra tees where the only logical play was backwards. A few tees appear to be used to throw both directions. This is only going to cause more problems with two or more groups on the course. A nice extra though when on an empty course.
