Pros:
- Concrete tee pads
- Some holes longer than you'd expect
- Good use of the land available
- Trees come into play and add just the right amount of difficulty
Cons:
- Tee pads are a little too short
- No signs (yet, but they're coming)
- Layout is a bit confusing (without a map or signs)
Other Thoughts:
This course is a nice addidtion to the Dayton area, as there are very few 9 hole courses around. This type of course, in a high traffic area like it is, is a great way to get newcomers introduced to the sport. The course is easy enough to make a new player want more, and difficult enough to not bore the season player.
The tee pads are a little short for my taste, and there are no signs yet, but I've been told they will be ordered and installed soon. But, the course designer(s) made good use of the smal amount of space they had to work with. I was expecting all 150-250 foot holes, but quite a few of these are quite a bit longer than that. The low hanging branches and large diameter trees add a nice amount of difficulty and keep things interesting. This course is a perfect into to the sport. Hopefully new players will use this course for practice, or as a springboard to move to the larger, more difficult local courses available.
