Pros:
Now that I've played this course a handful of times I feel like I can give it a fair review. The course is laid out well (I was a bit mixed up my first time playing getting from 7 to 8) and makes great use of the space available. While it's part of the main park, it's separated enough to where you rarely have to worry about pedestrians aside from the occasional joggers or people passing through on the roadways. The road OB offers a good challenge and there's enough variety to where you can work forehand, backhand, uphill, and downhill puts in the same round.
Summary of the pros:
- Good signage although most holes only have two pins set up instead of the 3 marked
- Minimal backtracking and wasted space through the entire course
- The road OBs offer a good challenge without the risk of your typical woods/water OB
- Isolated from non disc golfers
- Two concrete tees at each hole offer their own unique lines to the pin
- Everyone I've come across so far has been super friendly
Cons:
Most of these are issues that can't really be overcome due to the landscape but are worth mentioning.
- If you throw into the woods, odds are you're picking up a few ticks and going through some large spiderwebs
- A few annoyingly low and dense branches get in the way of ideal lines (not too awful and adds to the challenge, but some pruning would really open up a few holes)
- Little elevation change but thats just part of the area. I like it from a walking aspect but some seem to view that as a negative
No real large issues with the course overall. Most of the cons are nit picky things or just part of the area.
Other Thoughts:
A great course overall and not just for the area. While I havent participated in any of the league play, I know that the volunteers really care about making this course an enjoyable one to play. A beginner or experienced player alike could have a great time playing here and I feel lucky to have it just a few minutes down the road from my house.
